i'm writing an essay about advertising and whether or not i believe most advertisements are gender specific. I have a pretty good idea of what i want to write but i would like to know what you all think of advertising. Negative? Positive? do you feel like you are being lied to or that most adverts are honest? this is supposed to be my opinion in this essay but it would be nice to get the opinion of some of you so i have some sort of basis for comparison. if you could give me a little feedback that would be great. thank you.
    peace. love.

    I'll give you some feedback....
I feel that quite a bit of Commercials, ad's, etc... are quite gender spacific. I mean you see a dove(soap) ad and there not going to show you a man washing himself with their soap, its almost guaranteed that you'll see and naked(nearly naked) women rubbing herself down in foaming bubbles of Dove. Take an even better example, something that "should" be used by everybody like Ajax dish soap....Their ad wouldnt show a man washing dishes, it would be a women, probobly dressed in loose attire, washing a large stack of dishes.
I absolutly feel that most advertising IS gender spacific.

Not only are they gender specific, they are also age specific. Compare for the sake of point, Chuck E $%**$* pizza VS What I'll call 'Wonder-Chair' that scooter chair for older folks that can't walk. See the age difference there? They also aim advertisements at most physical afflictions.
That's how they 'GET' us all.
