(hip forums friends) have you ever become close with a forumer outside of the forums? are they the same person on the forums as they are IRL or are they so completely different it blows your mind? I've recently got to know someone outside of here, and I have to tell you...the difference between the forum persona and the real person is like night and day...in a good way though. has anyone ever surprised you like this?
i've never met anyone of the forums, but i would be intregued to meet a few. i'm nothing like what i am online. same ideas and views but not the same way of expressing them. i'm REALLY shy irl.
i don't think they are completely different, like being two totally different people. its really just getting to know the person better and finding out all the little things. i've never been outrightly and totally surprised.

i have never met anyone from the forums and i doubt i ever will.the distance is too big between most of us. but i still wanna meet with Zilla, i think she is a very wonderful person. i`m sure she is even more wonderful in real life. I think i`m going to have great fun with KC too
as I got to really know this person and what they are Really about they surprised the shit out of me...and to be honest, it takes a fuck of a lot to surprise me these days.... they always came across as so indifferent to everything and borderline insane at times.... irl conversations they are actually a really down to earth passionate person i wonder if im that different irl or if im consistent
I'd say it's close to impossible to determine what someone is actually like based on how they portray themselves on here. You'd get a vague idea, but I've met some people from the Internet and it's never really what you expect.
I haven't met any HF people IRL, but I have had some in-depth PM conversations in which people showed completely different sides of their personalities that were not revealed in posts. You can be more open and honest in PM or e-mail with friends because you know you aren't going to be attacked.
i think alot of that comes from simply not being able to see emotions on a screen... HHB is a great example lol... people figure he is a downright cantankerous ol asshole,,, n he is but he is alot more passionate n caring n sensible than many get the image of him being in person... the same but it all makes more sense in person... maybe its something that only those who have met others or us could understand

I've never met anyone from the forums...I'm kind of secretive like that. I prefer to keep cyber life and real life seperate places, if that makes sense. I more than likely feel this way due to the people my mother has met from online. She's had a pretty bad history, people being completely different from what they portray online (and not in a good way).
I've met one person from here, after we discovered we live less than a mile from each other. Yeah, I'd have to say she's very different in person, but then I think it was intentional on her part. She mostly posts in the Sexual forum, cause she would probably never talk about sexual things so openly in real life. This is her way of opening up that side of her.
I'm much more likable in real life, because my sense of humor is much more obvious. I'd love to meet some people off the forums though, I think that it'd be great. It's very easy for me to get along with any type of person.

I talk to some outside of Hipforums, like on MySpace and messenger, but not in real life. Nobody really lives close enough.
