Multi-purpose thread... A. Does anyone know of some hip things going on this summer in and around Ohio? B. Curious as to if I tried to plan a happening in Yellow Springs this summer who would be interested in coming? The more replies I get, the more serious I will become! Some thoughts that came to mind is doing something like an overnight camping event... nelsons ledges is always happening, and ive always had a good time at the festivals up in bluffton, i forget thier names though . . .
Ripplefest is usually a good time. (It's in Bluffton) It's not called Ripplefest anymore though, I don't think. One tip for that show though, get there early and camp under the line of trees to the right of the stage, or bring TONS of sunscreen if you burn easily. There's very little shade. I'm really pale and learned this the hard way my 1st year there.:&
ripplesfest.... ripplebust................. word of advice dont go.... ive seen to many of my friends get busted at the last ripplefest.......... the people that own it or at least the people that did own it when it was ripplefest great people i feel for em i really do but its not worth the risk

Wow... This is why I love this site! I have gotten so many good replies AND you all look out for each other - Right on! Thanks so much
do u know if carol and her husband still run it???? the folks who run the fireworks store next doors???
I'm pretty sure that Carol and her Hubby still run it. I dunno, it's been 2 years since my DH and i went. As far as I know, they changed the name b/c of a bad connotation t had picked up stemming from a few incidents in the last few years.
Yeah my DH and I went to one the year after, but we probably won't be back. It was much too difficult. But as far as I know they still hold shows there.
The Great Blue Heron Music Festival... its in Sherman NY which is close to Erie PA which is close to Ohio lol.... its a medium sized festival in the middle of the rolling hills in amish country. Great bands there like Donna the Buffalo, Avett Brothers, Jim Donovan and Jenn Wertz from rusted root. the list goes on. But yeah Nelson Ledges is always a great time.
The whole fest was very hard for us. The"incident" I referenced? He and my DH were best friends. (BTW, if I've lost you, feel free to say so. Or PM me) They were practically brothers. I don't think that we could really go there again and just look at it as a good time.
I suggest that anyone interested in locating events check out the "festival finder" at www.jambase.com. It is an excellent resource for events all over the country.
