hippies only post here (your opinion on the nonhippie prescence)

how do you feel about the nonhippies who post here at hipforums and do you think many of them are really hippies even though they don't want to go around with the stereotype and they want to be what they are but don't know they are hippies? just curious to what others think...

 

I think most of them and the pseudo-hippies don't truly grasp what it's all about. Most are still caught up in the world of "popularity", "materialism", and wearing hippie clothes without even getting near the lifestyle.

To each his or her own, but I can see right through the pseudo-hippie. And the nons don't bother me much unless they are here to degrade and insult.

 

whether anyone falls into the stereotype image of hippie or not, maybe some just don't like labels.
Or maybe someone believes that if they call themselves a hippie they then would have to believe in everything that society says hippies are supposed to believe in & if there is even 1 or 2 hippy things that they don't agree with, then they can't seem to consider themselves a hippy.

Ummm... I always thought that from the word go `hippie` was a marketing term used to sell tie-dyed T-shirts, bumper stickers and assorted nostalgia. Being a hippie was also an excuse to take drugs.

Before they were hippies, they were people who were calling into question the values and goals of their society.

I don`t know if it`s honest,　but I would prefer to think of myself as the latter.

 

Aren't hippies supposed to promote tolerance and acceptance? I smell a contradiction...

 

I must be 1 of those "stupid fuckers" cuz I had no idea what avant guard was, so I decided to look it up online. If I found the wrong definition could ya please explain it to retards like me who don't have a clue.

I guess I should go get some tie-dyes now and participate in the hippie movement since that's obviously the cool thing to do...and anyone who isn't wearing tie-dyes and calling people "gayasses" for not promoting peacec must be a complete and total dumbass...

who cares about labelling people, really? We are who we are. We aren't stereotypes, we don't do things that people in our label are supposed to. I'm a nerd but I don't build my own computers.
