my names matt im 17 and i stoped brushing my hair about 5 days ago....ive been washing my hair with this "black soap" i see a little proggress and i was wondering if salt water is good to use in the begginning ill might post some pics but theres not really much too see -_-..... oh and is there anthing i can do to speed up the dread process????
black soap? as in that stuff for poision ivy? does it have a residue? your going naturasl i take it and thats the only way i have ebver gone so ill give ya a lil bit of what i found helpfull yes sea salt helps a ton so do wool hats and, beads how longs the hair? if u got at least 3 inches or so, throw on some beads seperate clumps that start to form so they dont grow tiogether playing with it can help..or hurt depending how u do..u dont wanna disturb delicate knots but u can encoyurage knots twist a section. then with yoyur fingers pinch it and push some of the loose hairs towards the scalp dont do it alot just lil now and then just to get the 1st knots started wadh weekly or so wuith a non residuer soap, mostly just use fingertips to scrape the scalp, not actualy wadhing the hair itself, then rince the soaop through shake em out good (movement creates knots).. u can either sleep on em or sleep with em tucked inmj a wool hat whicjhever u think will prevent untangling (u might run fingers through hair while asleep so try with hat at 1st at least) compression, while sleeping tightens the knots formed by movement lets seee what your starting with and i should have more advice
its an all natural soap it has a bunch of stuffs..got it at a kinda dread store and my hair ...dunno how long it is but it covers my eyes....i have pics up on my profile but ill post some for ya =3
dread store? already suspicius of the ingredients can u list them? not alotta "dreasd stores" are worthwhile there may be a few here and there but my guess is its a scam like most dread products but if u tell us the ingredients it will be easy to tell
no its a residue free bar of soap it as like aloe and i ddont know what else but its pretty much working....my gf has that dr.whatever soap she gonna give me some this weekend =3
ah ok. just looked, u can already see the 1st hints of progress at only 4 days (some may not see progress just a lil messiness, but the trained eye can see each dread struggling to be born) you see the 1st hints of sectioning going on there, (mostly sorta thin, u can let them go awhile and not start seperating till they begin knotting more or forming too thick of sections) over a few weeks you'll see em getting wilder, then lil loops and knots forming these knots and loops might bee quite loose (a loop of hair projecting up to 2 inches outside the section before rejoining) this is the begining of the fun funky crazy stage that will lead to real locking then they will move into sw shrinking tightening stage as knots pile up on knots loops get sucked back in, and the hair shrinks as it formes tighter more rexcognizable dreads these can be curly flat ziggy zaggi lumpy twisty fun andfd freaky then slowly move into more matutre where they are fairly tight, dont change a lot the loops settle into bumps and they just grow and grow at any point you can choose to not seperate a few to alow them to congo (combine) into thicker dreads if u do it before they are well formed they can combine root to tip but once mature they will just combine from when u chose to tiowards the roots so u have like a single thichk dread splitting into several thinner ends

aww ya are dating? cool congrats i never liked the term dreadlocks i liove lovelocks dreadlocks originaly came from the queen of england saying they looked dreadfull but then rastas adopted it to mean the dread of god. but i still feel theres more love then dread in it, so preffer lovelocks i just use dreadlocks cause then ppl know what i mean..lol
