My mom gets into her car, as I pull out the lawn mower from the garage. 2 cars enter our caul-de-sac, proceeding slowly towards my house. They get out and walk up my driveway. A badge hangs off each of their necks. I thought they were there for my truency or something drug related for me. My heart is beating like crazy.

They ask if my father is home, and then if my mother is home. She gets out of the car, and walks towards them. "Hi we are from ATF" (Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms) I thought they said Alcohol and Tobacco Federation, so I was thinking OOOOO SHIT! they are here for me. Then one of them says "One of Mr. Blanks firearms was used in a crime. He is the last known owner of the firearm" Finally I relax a bit. They ask if a gun was stolen, or sold recently, but neither me or my mother knew. They said my dad was in no trouble, and they just gave my mom their card, and asked my dad to call them. I think he is talking to them now because he said he would call me back.

I am thinking that they may have been watching our house, or maybe they will watch our house. Fuck, well see. Man, that was scary ass shit.

Wow thats straight up the same thing as what this guy was talking about on the radio today. Our town invested at least like 6.5 million dollars into a gun tracking program where when you buy a gun you send a shell casing in because each gun leaves a slightly different marking on the bullet casing. So in turn this is a way to tell which gun fired the bullet. Anyways they are arguing how it is a great idea to identify suspects in gun related crimes. Except for the fact that most gun related crimes are commited with stolen or unregistered guns and all the authorities are going to be able to do is knock on the door of the last person who legally owned it. Which sounds pretty much exactly like what happened with you, unless your dad secretly committed a crime with his gun [IMG]

It turns out my dad hasn't had that guns for YEARS, he already talked to them and they will keep him updated.

    ouch that sucks.
i've had something similar happen, but nowhere near the same magnitude.
we'd just woken up at someone's house from a party the night before. (this was a few years ago)
so i was headin' home and my friend needed a lift to work. on the way we smoked a joint to kinda shake off our hangovers.
after a bit of traffic we noticed that the cars weren't moving much. by now the car is full of smoke, and we're right fuckin' pie eyed.
out of nowhere a cop is standing infront of us, and sticks his hand up for us to stop. me and my friend both instantly freeze. (lol, keeping in mind i'm driving)
so i try to play it cool, meanwhile my mind is racing a mile a minute. after what seems like minutes, the awkward moment passes and the cop just motions for us to go around an accident.
i drive around. the car is still silent. i pass jen the joint. she hesitates for a second then grabs it and starts smokin' again. after a lengthy inhale, she exhales and says, "so....did you think we were busted too?" we just broke out into a really nervous laughter, it was great.
maybe one of those things where you had to be there. i'm too lazy to re-read this so too bad.

If that would've happened to me, I would've started running as soon as they got out of the car, which would've resulted in them tackling me and beating the shit out of me.......for nothing. hahaha that'd suck donkey balls.

Yeah it's pretty stupid, but you don't think about that shit in the heat of the moment. Besides, running 100 yards is enough time to toss any illegal shit you may have in your pockets. lol

    lol.
i think it's that thing that scientists call the 'flight' reaction.
when something comes into an animals environment that threatens them, or freaks them out, they take flight.
fuck, if i was standing around with my parents and saw the 5o roll up like that, yeah i'd be shitting bricks and considering my quickest way out.
i've only run from cops once, but it was a group situation so i didn't mind.

I've never ran from the cops either, but I've gotten into some trouble with the cops. I don't mind getting arrested so much as I mind all of the fines and bullshit that comes along with it. I'm still suffering, financially and otherwise, from the last two times I got arrested. It's all just too much of a hassle.

The point being.....if I can get away from them, or at least get a few less charges when they catch me, then dammit......I'm gonna run.

yea ive run but they had a sting on my car when i went back either way though i was kinda F'ed in the A im on 6 month probation now which sucks because its all summer...oh well either decision wouldve fucked me the cop was a major asshole so he wouldve searched me and found bud but we ran and he ended up lying on the report to make it look like they had reason to arrest me...which they really didnt there was no way for them to know it was me who ran but thats another story it mightve been best to not run but like obs said it was probably the flight effect got freaked out and we ran like hell

I got arrested for shoplifting once, but that was about 4 years ago and it's all over with.

Right now, I'm experiencing the after effects of getting arrested for misdemeanor possession of marijuana. I was arrested, charged $600, and released; they told me that was all that would come of it. I didn't have to go to court for it and didn't get any probation; but they suspended my license and I have to take a DUI/risk-reduction class and pay some money to the South Carolina DMV and I have to pay a re-instatement fee.

Then, with a suspended license, I kept driving so I could get back and forth to work and I was pulled over for filling up my tank on my car and driving off without paying. They didn't charge me for stealing the gas and they just drove me back to the gas station let me pay the clerk at the store what I owed him. They did, however, charge me with driving on a suspended license. They searched my car that day and found a bubbler, but didn't charge me for that and just left it in my car and let me keep it. lol They were gonna give me a breathalyzer as I had just drank 40oz of beer and they smelled it on my breath, but the battery in the breathalyzer was dead and he could tell I wasn't drunk. Then they hauled me off to jail for the suspended license. They put me on 12 months probation and gave me a $600+ fine.

It's nothing too major, but it's a pain in the ass to have probation fines and not have a license. I also lost my job because of all that shit, indirectly, and I guess you could say it was an indirect cause of me having to break up with my girlfriend of two years. Shitty.

    oooh...
sorry to bring up old matters.
that sucks, but hey you seem to be in good spirits about it. nice.
i've only had licence trouble here, but nothing major. tickets, and suspension from tickets. that's about it. that and a couple of accidents that weren't my fault. (not fun)

That's shitty enough dude. This is the second time I've had mine suspended. The first time was when i was 16; I got two tickets in one week.....from the same cop.......in the same exact spot. I was doing 70mph in a 35mph zone, both times, and my license was suspended for 1 year.

Another thing I forgot to mention in my last post was the day I got arrested for posession, I was also rear-ended in my brand-new car that I had only had for a week or two, and the rear bumper was basicall ripped off of the car. Shitty.

^^^ lol that same cop business is hilarious. i know it probably wasn't at the time; dont' get me wrong i'm not makin' fun. but yeah funny shit.
i've only gotten minor speeding tickets. and one accident worth mentioning.
i was driving my mom to the dentist. we're on gardener expressway (a highway downtown) slow traffic, i'm not using either pedal. everyone's crawling and i notice a taxi far behind us going kinda fast. i dont' think much of it.
after a few seconds i hear my mom sharply inhale as if she's being held at gunpoint. i see in the corner of my eye the taxi about to rear end us at highway speeds.
all of a sudden the back end of the car is up in the air, and me and my mom are facing the concrete. after the initial hit i decide to ram the wall instead of other cars. we were in the left most lane, so i just went into the concrete K-barriers. instead of just crashing like i thought, we actually climbed the wall because we're going so fast.
so the two left tires are on the concrete median between the highway, and the other two are on the ground. we slip between the wall and the car infront of us and come crashing back down. he moves to the right, causes and accident and so forth.
complete lockdown, on the day of the board show. (surf skate thing here)
the no part of the car externally wasn't damaged. even most of the insides.
the doors wouldnt' open. the back bumper was inside out. the muffler was sticking through the trunk on the inside. the tires were bent in funny ways. it was awful.
from taht one trip to the dentist, i had to take my mom to physio for 2 months after.
