Holy shit, earthquake!!!

I'm in the middle of an earthquake right now! I've never been in one before. It could also be an explosion. We don't get earthquakes where I am.

 

Same here. Just happened and my kids are home studying for exams and came flying out of their rooms in a panic.

My dogs are still going crazy......so it may not be over.

I almost shit myself, lol. You must be relatively near by, have you experienced one before where you are?

I am in Ottawa area. About 40 minutes east.

We have had a few over the years but this one was stronger than any I have felt in about the last 10 years.

 

Eastern Ontario

 

So far today there have been 1436 earthquakes in the united states.

 

I'm at a library and some guy right beside me started shouting, "Earthquake, earthquake!" That did not help things. People do not react well in a public setting to such events. They tend to panic more as it has a group mentality to it.

 

I'm surprised there haven't been more.

 

lol, one woman said to the man afterwards, "Next time you should shout, 'take cover under the tables!"

I couldn't help but think, "Next time you say it bitch" lol Who is this guy, Clark Kent? Should you not know enough to do so without a shouting man to remind you?

 

Well, my kids were rather panicked. I grabbed them and had them stand under the door frame in the dining room as I know it is enforced with a steel beam.

My dogs on the other hand just jumped about and yipped. So wide spread panic I had. They have still not settled. Even my bird has stopped talking.

 

Is there any damage?

 

Yea, I got pretty shaken up, I suppose I should go home and make sure my cat is not going completely insane. She quite jumpy in general.

 

Not at the library. I'm gonna go home now and see.

 

door frames are over-rated. they can sheer in half and do the occupants a lot of damage. get under a table and lay flat, or under a bed.

been through lots of earthquakes. you can pretty much get them anywhere.

Walked my main property and no damage to house, garage or pool. So that is a good thing.

I hear many sirens, they've been going by for like 15 minutes.

 

earthquakes are kinda fun, i have to say. except when you're on a bridge or in the middle of a city. then they suck.

 

Or if you have children and pets.
