On the eve of our newest Big Chance, tell me, what do you hope or wish would happen? And similarly (or alternately, as it were), what you do think or predict WILL happen this year? Me.... I will get rich enough to quit my job. v. I'll finish the fucking novel, even if it turns out to be unprintable crap.
Ditto, I'm going to make a hell of a lot of cash this year, and I plan to finish my novel too.. it's all in draft atm, I have to start putting it together (probably unprintable crap)
I hope- People will stop blowing eachother up, there will be no notable natural disasters, i will move to Paris and pass my exams with a high grade. I predict- People will still be blowing eachother up, there will be just as many natural disasters as in 2005, i will move to Paris and pass my exams with a low grade.
I'm writing an adult science fiction/ horror thing. It sounds cheesy but yeah I may have to tone it down because the content is very strong...So what's your novel about? I want details (oh and it's 5:13 pm)
the oil will run out. communities will stop paving the roads for cars and only maintain the sidewalks. where they can afford it the pavement will be removed and soil restored and trees and gardens planted with little narrow gauge multiple unit minivan sized trains, computer dispatched like an elevator replacing them. 9/10 of human population will voluntarily go to sleep and take turns living untill by not having so many babies the total human population will return to a sustainable 1/20th of what it is now. governments, if there even are governments, won't have the resources to enforce building codes or national borders, and realize how completely wrong headed it would be to even try. no energy will be generated by combustion but wind, solar, and hydro will provide more then 3/4, with nukes and geothermal and perhapse more exotic tecnologies, along with simply less consumption covering the remaining fraction. the gratification of creativity will become the primary driving force of such real economics remain neccessary. self directing machinery will do much of the real work, but do so in ways that sustainably harmonize with nature's cycles of renewal. well that's a sampling of what i'd LIKE to see happen. SOME of it probably will, some, of course will not, and which are which remains anybody's guess. likewise as to how much or how soon. diversity being the nature of reality guarantees as it always does, only that not all chainges will be either good or bad but an inscrutable mix of both

also, war, theres gonna be war. something is wrong with that pope here bad vibes from that guy, i think he might have some connections somewhere also hat whole poleshifting stuff, the magnetic poles won't shift this or next year but the energy, it moves, and it'll move more/faster now which means the weather will be weird, snow in june/july that sorta shit haw well what i predicted on the birdflu was right, people actually can get it from other people now. so that'll get worse. the water, well i live in holland now and water is a big problem here and i think soon its gonna be more of a problem then it already is, in the uk too. okay, so this is what i think will happen. i don't hope it will happen.
