So I get up this morning and go to make a coffee... (I drink double double)...

The sugar container was empty, so I look around for some more... seems we're all out... Just about the time I resign myself to a coffee with no sugar, I spy a baggie with some in it. I remember Nicole putting some in a baggie for rhubbarb a while ago... So I put it in and come sit down at the computer, roll a smoke and sit back to enjoy my first coffee...

Only to discover it was a baggie of salt....

    just about puked...

Definitely not for me... although I know someone who eats these swedish (I think) licorice treats that are literally caked in salt... they may like coffee this way...

Salmiakki :D I love that stuff. Nothing like some ammonium chloride in your diet.. :D

But not in your coffee, that's just wrong. :p

It's worse then eating sour grapefruits...

You know they preserve meat by packing it in salt right? Imagine your insides... lol

LoL I would have tasted it first but, I learned my lesson at an early age. I used to take spoonfulls of sugar and eat it as a kid, one day my parents replaced it with salt to play a prank on me. I was like ewwwwweeeee.

Yeah, I'm the weird one... lol

to be clear, it wasnt the black licorice I have issues with... I especially love Sambuca... its that overwhelming saltiness... Like sticking a straw into the ocean and taking a big slurp...

I haven't had sugar in so long....

Reminds me of when I was school age... a member of the church had accepted our invitation for dinner and my older brother stepped up to make brownies for dessert. Seems that the sugar cannister was empty so he took it to the pantry where we kept large sacks of staples (sugar, flour, salt) and refilled it to complete the recipe.

Dinner went without a hitch and dessert was presented... a plate of delicious looking brownies tastefully arranged... walnuts decorating the tops of each chocolatey square and this was first offered to our guest; this respected member of the church, soprano in the choir, and pillar of the community graciously accepted and took a sizable bite only to instantly grimace... seems as though brother had refilled the sugar cannister with salt- an error that propagated into the brownie recipe.

As with all people with class, this lady had a sense of humor... complimented on the beautiful arrangement and asked to relieve us of the saline dessert. She took it to her workplace as a joke on her coworkers.
