The US just endured its hottest summer in 75 years, and nearly broke the all time record set during the Dust Bowl in 1936. Four states also reported the warmest summer on record including Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Louisiana. The average US temperature was 2.4 degree hotter than the norm for the entire last century.

But don't worry folks, this is just the beginning of the IRREVERSABLE effects of global warming. Get used to it getting even hotter.

I believe that Texas reported the warmest summer due to too many people having a BBQ in the woods and forgetting to put out the fire.

FYI, today it's predicted to be 100 degrees where I am, and the normal high would be 83. It's been over 90 everyday for over a month now, every one of them higher than normal.

So what is the NEW normal? I guess if it breaks a record, it's now considered "normal" weather for a planet experience global warming.

And the irreversable global warming for effects. But if WE ALL BECOME RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS... We may have good as bad and bad as good. Actually, I was afraid of this when the conservatives were refusing the Kyoto Protocol back in 2000.

It's turned a bit milder today than it's been recently here in Scotland, and they are saying on the news that the latest Hurricane to develop in the Atlantic has turned and is headed our way and we are gonna get a major storm hitting us by about sunday night. but :D because I LOVE extreme weather!

I remember summer 2006 in Holland, it was 40+ degree C, people were dropping dead from exhaustion on building sites and on the vierdaagse yearly walking event, which was cancelled after the first day. I went out that week every night and partied my tits of during the zomer feest, drank about 10 cans of lager a day, smoked 30+ roll-ups, joints, shisha water pipes and I survived it. Bring it on, I love hot weather... don't think I could handle death valley though.

Of course this doesn't really demonstrate how fast the temps have risen over the past 100 years. There's a little vertical line, you can barely see it at the end of the graph. That is what ppl need to be concerned about. There is rarely such a quick increase in such a short period.

Here's a better graph of the last 130 years... And this one only goes to 2005. Things have gotten far worse since then.

I know the national German weather service is not telling the truth, maybe the same thing about NOAA?

If there were NO statistical anomalies then it would be more strange. Statistical anomalies are the norm. 20 hottest years on record (going back how far?) doesn't really mean anything IMO certainly nothing to get alarmed about. Variations in the mean global temperature of a few degrees per century are part of the natural cycles of the earth.

Yes, the list comes from NOAA, the best source in the world for this info.

And the problem with your graph above is that it ONLY STARTS AT 1998.

Ask yourself, WHY DID THEY BEGIN A TEMP GRAPH IN 1998, when accurate records go back to 1900?

Copyright Joe D'Aleo? WHO THE FUCK IS THAT??

It's because 1998 was one of the WARMEST YEARS ON RECORD, so any graph starting with that is going to look like it's cooling down.

BTW, 2010 was HOTTER than 1998, but this graph doesn't go that far. I think 2011 might top 2010 too.

This is just one of MANY misleading sets of info being passed around to make it look like there is no such thing as global warming.

Anytime you see a set of stats that does not go back to 1900, YOU KNOW THEY ARE MISLEADING YOU, to try to disprove global warming!

Midgardsun, please don't just post up any data until YOU YOURSELF VET IT as accurate and giving a complete picture, not a partial one meant to mislead ppl. If you don't understand graphs, and how they are used to mislead ppl, then don't post them. (no offense)
