today me and some friends went on a munchie hunt and settled for mexican burritos from the general store. There were only the "Spicy red hot beef and beans" kind so we all just bought them. A friend and I finished it no problem but the other friend couldnt finish the damn thing. he said "man this is spicy as SHIT" but my other friend and I disagreed saying "It's hardly spicy at all, maybe a tiny bit of heat but thats it" but he still didnt finish it so I ate the fucking thing.. lol

lol. My brother and I go over this all the time. I seems that many people today are pussies when it comes to real heat. I'm not impressed until my face goes entirely numb.

I have a friend who if they have anything with hot peppers they get hives. Actually is frightening to see.

When they are over I never make anything with them and check all ingredients so that they are not exposed to them.

Do you like spicy food? You obviously like some kind of heat. ;)

yes, that is an exception, but ive had real indian curry that had plenty of chilli powder had my ass on fire the next morning. But one time I made soup with two tablespoons of regular black pepper and it had only mild to moderate heat that had a pleasant buzz on my tongue, but a couple friends were struggling.. I said that they were pussies and should try some of my mom's curry one day.. THEN they will know the true power of spice :p

I love spicy foods, the hotter the better. My favourite is actually authentic Thai. If you feel a bite then it is made correctly.

I think spice you have to be exposed to and gradually for some, become accustomed to. You probably grew up with spice so you have a taste for it and a tolerance.

I cook all the time with it and when my partner first came to live here I think he drank gallons of water and had the sweats more often than not. :)

I did tell him he was a wuss. ;)

Yes and herbs. I grow my own herbs and have started garlic this year. Also a few types of hot peppers. Probably not the best ones as around here the selection is a little more limited. I am going to look into ordering some this fall and preplant my own for next year. That should work! :)

I love food and cooking so the more flavour the better.

Hell yeah. I grew my own garlic for the first time this year. Garlic, dill, basil, and oregano are touchstones to good cooking. :)

I also tried my hand at small, hot peppers.

i wasn't raised on 'spicy' i was raised on 'down home' and itallian ie meat, potatoes, gravy; spaghetti. so spices are usually ok in moderation for the hot stuff, but i can't handle, and do not enjoy flavor-heat in my food. i like flavor, but the lingering heat bothers me. hubby liikes spicy, and i have learned how to cook some things to satisfy that in him, so at least i am not unwilling to try new things.

Spicy is awesome... I just hate when something is so hot that it makes everything taste sour or you can't distinguish a flavor at all, just the burning sensation. That's overkill.

My mom thinks yellow mustard is "too hot." She only likes the blandest of the bland.

I don't mind spicey, I just really don't like hot. It bothers me. It's not a taste, hot - it's just hot. Even when I put too much hot stuff on my foods, it's quite unappetizing. I can't taste all the flavours in my food any longer - it just tastes hot - which is a total bummer man and annoying. No tolerance for too hot here!
