how deep do i plant??

how deep should i plant the seeds?

 

sideways and no more then a 1/8" deep,get em too deep and they struggle to surface.

 

1" deep, so they can be firmly rooted.

 

Do as ranger suggests and lose some to stress while it struggles to surface.30+ years of growing and ya offer that advice.Tap roots grow down,why make it hard on the seedling to reach surface which is where root production will excell via cotyledons beginning the photosynthesis process once shell is thrown.Go back to growkind where people believe your bullshit.

 

I have been growing pot for decades and I've always planted my seeds 1" deep.
Never had a problem woith them being unable to make it through that extra 3/4".

Besides any growbook will tell you to plant your seed 1/4 to 1/2 inch at the most.
Anyone knows that if you plant them too deep they lose energy trying to get through the dirt. extremely loose soil you can plant them at 1/2 inch but more will sap the ensrgy they need to sprout.
I go 1/4 inch in a hole i make with a 16 penny nail myself.And push it down by the hypocotyl area and bury it point first.

 

I Always Just Threw The Seeds Over My Shoulder...And Magically They Would Appear : )

i always germinate using the tissue/plate method and place the split beans tip down about 5mm deep in seedlingsoil/perlitemix 16/16 last time germanated within 48hrs popped top of mix within72hrs find a way that suits you and go with it
