How do I get a spirit Guide?

If everyone has one, and most ppl in this forum have one. WHat should I do to contact mine?

 

If you really truly want one...believe, ask, feel in your mind for their presence, and be patient and believing. I'm thinking you might be ready to meet one...your life is churning and ripe for guidance. You're treading a path through sticky supernatural marshes...this is a path arranged to challenge your equanimity and lead to spiritual lessons. I think you might find your spirit guide quickly, if you start looking.

 

Everyone has spirit guides and teachers. We have one main teacher that stays with us for life and then others that come and go as we progress spiritually in the current lifetime. You can become more intune with your guides be simply calling on them. They will come to you in dreams or thoughts (that you may think are your own thoughts) Just ask that your channel become open so thier messages can come through and listen. P.S. notice the time of my last post. 11 11 is a signal from spirit guides that they are there. More and more people are looking at the clocks at this time, as the world becomes more troubled, they want us to know they are here. When you see the 11 11 signal, please acknowledge your guides! 11 is a very spiritual number. Very signifigant to this thread.

 

Believe in God and Angels and then you will be granted an Angel spirit guard.

 

Be very open to thier presence and signs to you. Talk to them, thank them for things that you know are beyond "coincidence". Make them an everyday part of your life, and they will begin to reveal themsleves more.

You might want to proceed cautiously in pursuit of a spirit guide. When you ask for such a guide you are basically inviting someone you don't know into your life and your head. The real world equivalent would be going into a crowded bar and offering your house key and address to some guy at random. Most of the time nothing particulary bad would happen to you, but you are still making yourself very vulnerable. And things can happen. I have actually seen several people open themselves to spirits and ... evil spirits came in and drove them mad. Scary stuff.
It doesn't usually happen but it can and you should be wary.

What does help is to adopt some sort of traditional spiritual practice. This will give you a spiritual core which can help protect you when you go seeking spirit guides. Taoist chi gung inner alchemy practices are good, Tibetan buddist practices, some spiritual yoga practices and native american practices are also good. But you should be careful with the native american practices. There are a lot of frauds our there. Choose your teacher carefully.

All of us are assigned guides when we are born. We cannot ask for one, we already have them. The question is, do you listen to them? Meditation helps you to hear them, paying attention to your dreams, watching for signs. They are alwasy there trying to communicate with us. They are our teachers. As far as inviting spirits into your life, yes you should be cautious. These earthbound spirits attach themselves to earthly beings and can create all kind of problems. Whenever you ask to talk to your guides or begin any kind of communication with the spirit world, always ask that you be protected by the universial white light and picture yourself surrounded by this light. It will protect you from these earth bound trouble makers from attaching themselves to you.

 

from what i know you are born with one or more by default. you just need to learn to listen.

but before you go off and actually do kill yourself, you might want to get some idea of what's really involved from people who have actually paid their dues and know what the hell the're talking about.

otherwise, like the old saying about how, when the student is ready, the teacher appears, that's pretty much how it is with our nontangable friends. at least that's been my ignorant and uneducated experience of such things.

I didn't have a clue what I was getting myself into--and it was more like "ready or not, here we come." My spirit guides' idea of what I'm ready for seems to differ dramatically from mine most of the time.

 

I agree, I've been prompted to do some really weird things. lol. And at some strange times. But I think that personal growth is continual, even when we think it's not. And they know more than we do.

I don't know that I ever asked to be introduced, either. I never waited for them to come or hoped for them. I was not ready for enlightenment.... but I did listen when they arrived.

 

I know I have a really close spirit guide who has been there with me for more than one life.... but I seem to have lost communication with her... I dont know if Im doing things wrong, or what..... but I would just like to know if my spirit guide is still there, watching over me.....

You know, don't you? Oh, God, they test us so sorely - but you KNOW, don't you? Yes, your spirit guide is still there - you're on the cutting edge, and you are one of our guiding lights - LOL why you??? But it's true - hold on, for all our sakes. You are NEVER, NEVER alone, and you know this...you must be far advanced on the path to be tested this way.

 

yes I do know....... maybe she is being more sneaky now and coming to me in different ways than Im used to..... she used to whisper things in my ear, and come to me in my dreams...... but I havent seen her do that lately.... I think maybe she is coming to me as my family dog who died a few months back..... there was one instance in a dream that I had of my dog.... I had to hold his ears and place my head against his, and he spoke to me like a normal human being......... but now IM thinking that it was my spirit guide coming to me as something familiar, so I wouldnt be frightened.....

she has come to me before in my dreams as a very vivid picture of a grecian woman..... and I was frightened at the time, my heart started racing and whatnot.... so I think she holds back sometimes, because IM easily alarmed....

what do you mean by a guiding light?? theres more at stake for me??

 

Sometimes when we explain things to others it clarifies those things for ourselves--you know what's going on, but just needed to explain it, and clarified for yourself that you know more than you thought you did.

As far as the "guiding light" thing--I didnt mean to burden you with responsibilities. LOL Anyone on a spiritual path is a guiding light to some extent, in that your experiences help light the way for others. I've had lots of spiritual experiences, but it does me good to read about yours.
