how do ozzies treat english people?

i'm thinking of going to australia for a while, but apparently they're really racist and patronising towards english people?:$
this is from someone that went there a while back, i'm hoping things have changed!

 

I've never met an ozzie that isn't - but that said.... I'd LOVE to.

 

i am sick of people asking about or making comments to "aussies", all that word means is you live in australia. we are not all the same , just like anywhere else you get good and bad people.

 

Dude the only way to find out if someone (note I said someone not the entire country) is racist is by meeting them.

I've been to Australia and met some of the best people in the world there and not a racist person around.

 

what part did you go to and what type of stuff did you do?

 

We went to Adelaide and the only Sydney
Well alot of my family are over there living so we spent alot of time hanging around with them, but when we where alone, we did alot of the tourist type things, shopping, pubs usual stuff like that.

In Sydney it was different because its huge and theres alot to see, so you can do the tourist type thing but you might need someone who knows the area with ya lol

If I where you though go and see what you think, you will meet some excellent people, its a big country with alot of people in it, theres aloways something to do there

Surely it is no different to calling Brits "pommies" etc? Infact, the word was even used on an Australian soap, which is a bit un-PC.

Because I would certainly love to go and visit the country that I am supposed to descend from.

 

I mainly don't like your pommie accent, you lot speak so fast I can't understand a word you all sayin. So when I find myself talking to a pom, I just nod & pretend I understand you, while trying to sneak away as fast as possible.

I also hate english TV shows, It's just so snobby & boring (the only good show being little brittan). Other than that I don't have a problem with you. Sure there are some Aussies who hate poms, but you get that anywhere.

Poms are just people we all laugh & joke about. You get over it when you find out that more Australians hate yanks than they do the english.

Definately go and check out Shameless or Skins, they're a bit more like actual working class life and they're funny.

Although there's a lot of slang, so you may need you're Brit slang dictionary out.
