I got a different laundry detergent a while back and I've been itching like crazy.
I first was afraid I had some kinda' mites or something,LOL, but I seem to itch worse after I put my clothes on when getting out of the shower. I don't have red spots, I'm just itchy and my skin feels dry.
It took me a bit to piece it together, but when I used to work at a grocery store, I'd start sneezing when certain detergents came through my line as a cashier.
Same thing with perfumy cleaning agents.
How does a person find out if they're having an allergic reaction to something? I seem to only be itchy where the clothing touches and it's driving me crazy.
I've always had sensitive skin, so.... Ugggg.

I use unscented infant detergent or else I break out. Wearing perfumed detergent filled with dyes on your undies can't be good. I'm meticulous about 'down there'

Someone else has been washing my sheets and I can't sleep because I get allergies because of the overwhelming harsh scent of the detergent.

What's weird is that I don't seem to have an actual rash Iike I first thought. The redness was from me scratching in my sleep.
Certain women's purfumes makes me sneeze like crazy, too.
    I hate being so sensitive.

I have a rash on my armpits, and they seem to come back worse at certain times...... sometimes I think its because I sweat...... and its a heat rash, but I have woken at night realizing Ive been scratching my armpit sore.......

its a nuisance sometimes..... I need to see a dermatologist

Well, this is awful, whatever it is. Someone said it's probably just dry skin, but I don't think it's ever been this bad before.
I'm prone to dryer skin in cooler weather, but the weather hasn't cooled down here that much, really. Maybe 15-20 degrees.
I cannot stand itching. Drives me crazy. I'm thinking instead of an allergic reaction, that maybe it's just irritated skin from the detergent.
Everyone says I should have hives if I'm alergic.

i have had the same thing and it's because I am allergic to anti perperients. I wear toms of maine lavender or dessert essence tea tree oil, unless I have a date or am speaking than I wear normal and deal with breaking out the next morning.

our bodies aren't amde for alluminum and detergents, non-natural fabrics and all that crap.
just get some deoderant at a health food store and it should be better in a couple of weeks.

why would anyone put allergens on their body, I just don't get it...why do so many people suffer from itchy or dry skin when it's so wast to fix...and cheaper than commercial brands.

Either go spend big bucks at an allergist or fall back on trial n error -
go back to the detergent that didn't bother you before and see if the problem goes away.

There appears to be more '
dermatologist recommended' detergents on the shelves as Time goes on - no perfume n all that other stinky crap...

I have the same thing with those fabric softener sheets. You gotta try to find the chemical that's making you react by trial and error or buy the all natural stuff. They also have detergent for sensitive skin.

I agree, that stuff is bad to put on our bodies. But to function in society you have to. You have to buy the stuff with chemicals whether it's detergent, deodorant, soap, toothpaste, etc... If you don't you're going to be considered dirty because the natural stuff usually can't get you clean enough for today's standards.(that's what I've found out anyway)

I just use unscented stuff, sometimes it'll say hypoallergenic or whatever, but unscented keeps the itchiness/hives/crap away for hte most part.
