How does Vyvanse compare to Adderall XR?

I've read that Vyvanse doesn't provide an euphoria like Adderall does. What are your thoughts? I've taken a 20 mg XR and it kept me up from 9 till 6 the next morning and I felt generally cheerful, talkative and focused. How comparable are the effects?

 

It's a mixture of Dextroamphetamine and L-lysine. It's basically similar to a time-released version of Adderall, just missing 2 or 3 of the other Amphetamine salts that Adderall has.

It should be really similar to Adderall XR, because they are both time-released, unless you found a way to break the time release on the XR, but if not, you shouldn't feel much of a difference.

Although, I don't know much about the other Amphetamine salts that are in Adderall, so maybe those give an added euphoria factor...but Dextroamphetamine is a euphoric psychostimulant, so you still should feel some euphoria, it just might not be AS good as the euphoria you get from the Adderall XR.

 

And from what I've read, a 50 mg Vyvanse is about as potent as 20-25 mg Adderall XR. Do you agree?

 

Well, I just took one instead. It's similar but smoother.

 

I wouldnt mind trying adderal once.

 

I take 50 mg of Vyvanse daily and I really don't see how someone would enjoy it other than using it for school or whatever reason it's prescribed for.

 

It's an Amphetamine, it produces euphoria, and a lot of people like the high. I personally don't like uppers, but I could see how these could be fun.

 

i love euphoria but when i used to take adderal and other add meds i would get it very inconsistantly like not ever time i would take the adderal i would get euphoria

 

I used to take 30 mg of Adderall XR daily for ADD. The first dose is released quickly and the second dose 4 hours later. I noticed that it got a mild euphoria for the first week or so, but then the body gets used to it and it does its job without the euphoria. I take it only when I need it now because it makes me very anxious. My dr wrote me a script for Xanax to counteract the anxiety, but I hate benzos. If you get anxious on any ADD meds, stay away from caffeine!

Vyvanse wasn't much different for me, but it lasted longer and I preferred only 8 hours of it.
