How many really love G-d?

Here is a quick question. Do you love G-d because you simply don't want to go to hell, or do you love G-d? Maybe its because of whatever, thats irrelevant. But the real question is to ask yourself "Is it because your afraid of hell?" In which case, why even follow a religion if its just to save yourself from hell...Maybe Christ has become less of a philosopher, teacher that created a revolution to just a saftey net...

Just something to think on.

 

I believe hell is simply seperation from God when you die. I wouldnt want that.

if you believe in God, definately love him. but you also need to worry about how much you show His love. if you believe in Him, just love. that's what we're supposed to do. even Ghandi was asked if he was a christian, and all he told em was you'll know the christians by their love.

it seems to be, from talking to him and watching him talk to others, that soaringeagle does a better job of loving people than most christians on this site. and you have no idea how much i respect you soaring, both with people and with dreads^^..lol.

i'd just say be slow to anger guys and quick to love. if you're going to call yourself christians, do it. the world is already full of people NOT acting on the things they say they believe, and it hurts.

Christianity is not what you say. Christianity is simply a relationship with God. Being a TRUE christain that i am, i TRY(KEYWORD, "try") to show everyone love. Christianity isnt supposed to be considered a religion that people have to convert to, like i said, its a personal relationship with God. In the bible it never says to go to church, but you should read the bible so god can reveal himself to you, so you make wiser decisions in life to benefit everyone around you. Soaring, your making christianity sound like a cult, its the exact opposite. When you try to "convert" people to christianity, your simply just telling them that God loves you and that he has a special plan for you in this lifetime, so you should obey his word so you become closer to him, so he might reveal what you were put on earth to do. Personally, i dont believe in religion, i believe in the 1 God, the creator. I believe that alot of the bible are metaphors to help us live the life God intended. God gave his children free will to do what they want, God didnt want robots. Tell me something, would you rather live life the "fun" way, or would you rather spend your life doing anything possible to leave the world a better place than you found it. Oh, and some say God should prove to us hes real, then everyone would obey him, because they would have concrete evidence of his existence, well guess what, I DO HAVE PROOF. Look outside your window, look at the human race, look at the animals, plants, stars, moon, sun etc. Thats all proof of Gods existence.

And yes, about the whole fearing God thing, i have news for you. God loves you unconditionally no matter how many people you kill. He does not judge you, he just wants his people to give full out effort to do his will, thats all. You try to be a servant for God, you really try 100%, then thats all he wants from us. He was the ultimate example when he was on earth. He taught people the ways of peace, love, forgiveness, etc.

so if you're afraid of hell, why is that even bad? any sane person doesn't want to suffer. you can define hell a million different ways, but i doubt any of them are exactly appealing.

god doesn't make mistakes. and that applies to our own actions and thoughts; we're not independent of god. we might think we are; THAT is hell.

god doesn't stick to some Absolute System (at least that we can understand) for every action of the universe. there are things that are weird, that clash with other things, there's anger and confusion and pointlessness. everything god does is not our idea of "perfect", but everything is working perfectly.

Salvation is a free gift. If you choose to go to Hell thats your choice. The 100,000 souls was actually 144,000 and it has nothing to do with who goes to heaven. That nonsense came from the Watchtower Society. The Bible tells us that all who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. The 144,000 is the number of Jews at the time of the end who will have the seal of God placed on their forheads. And this happens during the seven year tribulation period.

 

Babies donot go to Hell. And I know that Hell exist because back in 1973 I had 6 month encounter with two demons that came from that place. And I can tell you, they believed in Hell and feared it. My job keeps me from church, but I have seen the power of God, and the power of Satan, and we Christians are not talking about make believe stories. Hell was created for the Devil and his angles. The Devil rebeled against God, and all who oppose God will experience the same fate as the Devil. But God sent us His Son to save us. We oppose the Devil, when we give our life to Christ. Getting to heaven only requires saying yes to God with a sincere heart. None of us will ever enter heaven because we worked our way there. God tells us, that are best works are but filthy rags before the Throne of God. Heaven is a free gift we receieve when we ask Jesus into our heart.

Now,
Children may be said to have inherited 'sin nature' (and parents know what this is) but as children they are simply not accountable.
Jesus not only see's them as innocent but as in fact holds that child-like innocence as a standard that adults should wish they had.

God made man and the Angles and allowed them to have free will. The same free will we have today. It was just a matter of time before someone decided to use that free will to oppose God. The Devil was perfect from the beginning, yet he like so many humans became full of themselves and he decided he was better than God. The prophecies of the Bibe were not only being fulfilled back then, but are now being fulfilled in our generation in great detail. If you see what is happening in the middle east today, and you have studied the prophecies of the Bible, then you would know what is going to happen to America and Israel. And if the Bible was all made up, all of it's end time prophecies should be failing, but they are all being fulfilled. You cannot just ignore how the Jews returned to Israel, to which part of Israel they secured first, to how they retook Jerusalem, to the sealed East Porch Gate in Jerusalem. You cannot ignore who their enemies are which confirms the accuracy of the Scriptures. God stated in the Old Testament that in the last days He would allow His people to return one last time to their land. And God will tell you, He is not doing this for the Jews. He tells us the Jews profained His name where ever they wandered. God tells us, He is allowing them to return to their land to show the world who He is. God tells us when the enemies of the Jews try by military force to destroy the Jews with a massive invading army, God will show His hand, and the world will shake in His presence. This invading army will be so powerful, that only God Himself will be able to stop them. The build up of the Islamic nations and their desire to aquire Nukes is just the beginning of what is coming. If the Bible is just guess work, then those guesses have been 100%.
