Not moving from teh chair to the couch.

I've moved easily 35-40 times in 25 years. That may be an understatement.

I went to one school from first through 4th grade. I saw 9 or 10 schools after that before I settled in, in high school.

My longest standing friendship is from 9th grade.....

    What about you? :cheers2:

I've never moved before I've been in the same house for 18 years and my family is moving this year while I'm going to college 5 hours away (not that that is a HUGE move or anything) but it's really exciting to go somewhere new finally!! I'm just pretty sad that when I come home for the holidays it won't be in the house that I grew up in a created so many memories in but that''s life... what's it like moving so many times? what were the reasons behind all those moves?

it depends how long living somewhere counts as moving there i suppose.

i would say as a rough estimate; 10-12 times.

I've transferred schools twice and moved once when I was in second grade. And my longest standing friendship is from...9th grade? I mean, I still talk to a lot of people I went to elementary and jr. high with, but I've only really kept in touch with my friends I met in and after high school.

My longest friendship ended - we just grew apart and can't understand each other anymore....but she and I were friends from sixth grade on.

I changed elementary schools five times and middle school once but that was only because the county rezoned the school districts when they opened the new school.

Is this from when we were born?

    Probably only 5-7 times.

But I've moved countries, so that makes up for it

And yes, NZ to Aussie is a big move.

....a lot of it was my own irresponsible lifestyle.......to avoid the coppers and sometimes fucking up on rent...or chronic late payment.....mostly in the toronto area...couple years out west and now near ottawa...my 13 year old recently put his foot down and basically made me promise we will stay here through high school..he really likes it here...he's very popular with other kids but not so much with some of the parents of those kids on account of my extreme leniancy policy towards my kid and his friends

I'd say a couple weeks to a month count. If it's not a vacation. ;)

I don't know a single person from primary school.

    Yes, it's from birth.

Really? I thought it was just a quick walk across the water. :piggy:

I've moved 6 times while living with my parents. I've lived here in my own house the longest. I'm never moving again until I have to take up permanent residence in a hole in the ground.

    I hate moving.
