lol this is a stupid question but how much does everyone practice music daily as in playing or singing? just wondered
um, im not sure who you are, but like worry not about how much you practice, like its about what your practice, like do you do the easy stuff you already know or work on the hard stuff you haven't learned yet, know the difference also between practicing and playing.
Not enough practicing, really... I play with other people a lot, improvising and whatnot, but not too much time gets spent these days running exercises with a metrognome or stuff like that.
Um I don't go out and play tabs like most people. I spend maybe an hour doing exercises and working on theory. Then I'll improvise and play what I've composed for about 4-6 hours.
3 hours a day atleast.....in the past two days i just learned "dirt" and "twist" by Phish....two decent tunes to play and sing....i just started really getting into learning other songs....i've mostly wanted to just satisfy my creative self and write my own stuff....but the time has come for the learning of other peoples tunes...
i havnt really learnt anyone elses songs (except needle and the damage done by neil young) for many months i just either work on songs ive got, try and remember 'that song i used to be able to play' or get stoned and just play and record and then have a look at what a recorded a while later. then ill turn bits of them into songs and work on them and every now and then ill record a song, which is a bitch
I really should practice more- I used to practice my clarinet religiously for 2 hours after school a day plus 3-4 hours on weekends/ school breaks. Now I only practice a few times a week for about 30 minutes- just going through some scales and warm ups and then playing random etudes.
Depends on my mood. I've gone anywhere from 0 to 14 hours. I usually have a guitar with me at all times, or I bring a Martin Backpacker on road trips and on vacations. I bring my D-35 whenever I visit my friends, and I used to keep a tele and a blackface twin-reverb at my grandmother's.
I don't practice. I just play because I enjoy it. Sometimes I might only play for 15mins in a day, and then I might play for a few hours. I do alot of gigs and stuff with bands and other musicians too. Even though I'm not always playing music, it never leaves my mind during the day.
I don’t practice anymore… at all, lol. I used to practice constantly though, but never any covers and stuff; just jams and trying to write difficult songs. Then that got old, and I quit. Now I pick my guitar up only a few times a week when I feel a creative spark, and I play till something grabs me, then I record it. From there I can do all kinds of things, and the enjoyment factor has infinitely increased.
I really don't practice, either... I just get to work. I have the ear to solo until I fall asleep if I have to...
Last November, after skipping school to play guitar, I actually quit going for about a week and then during that period I realized I really had to get my priorities in life in order. I needed to change things and I realized my future was at stake... That's when I started homeschooling and doing guitar set-ups.
Just play, whenever I feel like it. If there's a solo or something I need to master for band practice, then I'd play that a couple of times... lately I've been mostly improvising.
playing and practicing are different, I play my clarinet about once a week, I'm horribly mediocre (I love it but in all truth it's a mediocre instrument so that makes me suck eggs I suppose) I play my guitar probably fifteen hours a week, again not near enough and I almost never play piano, I almost practice any of them
Did about 11 hours today, busked, came home for coffee and posted, then played an entire set of SRV songs and Hendrix covers...
