Umm no..they do their job for a fucking paycheck just like 99.999% of us

same thing with cops firemen and soldiers...their lives are not worth one penny more than anyone elses but the media always makes such a big deal

My life is only worth that of my mother and my dead father

Life has no real value. It comes, it goes. There is life, there is death. It's all the same thing. This is why I don't understand those who feel life is a gift. It's more of a happening.

    Sorry...

All I meant was that our lives are worth that of everyone elses. Life has the same value everywhere. It's cheap. Fucking is free. So is dying.

It takes a dead person to need a funeral.

They don't charge you a dime before they stuff you ;)

And then stuff you into a box...

My dad's funeral and everything else that was involved cost a little over $10,000. And that was one of the cheapest routes.

Yes. And they look at you like you're some kind of animal when you express a desire to not go all out.

Well yea. If you don't face the risk of death and bullets everyday, how could you compare yourself?

The account of the NFL players and a friend that died in the boating incident off Florida has always left me puzzled.

Apparently, they anchored their boat from the stern instead of the bow (a mistake) and later gunned the motor to try to remove a stuck anchor (another mistake). That capsized the boat and resulted in three deaths.

Why would an anchor be more important than one's life? They could have disconnected the anchor. Losing an anchor is not that important.

I suppose if you know little about boating safety, you wouldn't be aware of how risky it is to do what they did with the anchor.

For some people, their life is worth less than a fishing rod. I read a news article a while back about a guy who was fishing and the water temperature was about 48F. He accidentally dropped his fishing rod into the water then dove off the boat to save the rod. He died.

Regarding dangerous jobs, I heard that a convenience store clerk is in the top five. I don't think police are even that high on the list.
