No they don't. A life is measured in time spent. The claim that lives can be saved is a distortion that causes us to make unwise investments of treasure. For instance, making war in Afghanistan on the premise that we are protecting American lives. No amount of war saves lives, perhaps maybe war offers an alternate demise. In the final analysis, people do not die of things, people die because it is programed into our development.
No, they can prolong life but they can’t save it because we all eventually die. Now if man could achieve immortality as long as he could avoid getting sick or mortally wounded ………. Hotwater
Clearly I didn't mean they can make people live forever. Just continue to nit pick, but it's boring me. .
Do you mean that you are bored with life and the ability to nitpick? It does seem at a certain point the question becomes how much are you willing to pollute.
when a police officer dies ...other cops from all around the country come to their funeral do you think they do that on their own time?...think again...public money...overtime...they are all on the payroll...expenses paid...BY YOU
screw the nice old man who lived quietly on his own...working his whole life just to be comfortable and live the way he wanted.....his death (and life) should go un-noticed ..and is worth less because of the job he chose
Where on earth did that come from? I never said anything about people going unnoticed or being worthless, because they don't work in those categories.
I have no issue with my tax dollars being spent that way. Edit: Almost all companies have a bereavement policy for those who wish to attend a funeral. So most people are paid when they take time off to do so. The federal and provincial departments are also paid by tax dollars.
today i made parts to keep a chalk mine running, a printing press, and a cement fiber board house siding plant up and running. i usually respect the humble skilled tradesperson more than the average police officer or soldier. this is me, whose one brother is a county sheriff, and other brother served in afghanistan.
I usually have respect for anyone who does any job and takes pride in their work. It appears that you do like what you do and that you take pride in your expertise. Good for you.
