How often can you smoke the herb without building up a tolerance? I've heard once a week to once every 3 days.
if you smoke every 14.734 hours you will be unable to build up a tollerance as the cells in your brain that hold the thc molecules recycle the nuclei which in turn rebuilds the cell to it's natural state and you no longer have THC in your brain, therefor have no tollerance
it's simple, people continue to smoke in shorter periods of time then of which the THC is disolved, say you smoke at school at 2pm, then smoke later that night at 8pm your cells have never recovered, and it kinda just snowballs, continuing to not regenerate, and also take more time to recover, so if u say, take a break for a couples weeks/month, then follow the 17.4 hour guideline, you will be all good, and be able to continue to smoke without worrying about effecting your tollerance
I build tolerance in a few days. Three days of smoking in a row, and I can't get high anymore. Need to take 2-3 day break
I'd like to see sources for that info since it is kind of...rediculous sounding. Not to say you are wrong, it just sounds bogus. And I am happy to say I have never ever had a tolerance problem! I get blazed off of very little weed even if I smoke multiple times everyday. It's like a gift! A little weed goes a long long way for me.
the simple answere is the less the better. so just go smoke, Dont worry about numbers, dont let numbers tell you when to smoke, just listen to your body and dont be greedy and dont get addicted. Personaly I think the maximum anyone should smoke is once a week., but im sure most people in the stoners forum smoke more than that.
WHAT?! Why do you think that "the maximum anyone should smoke is once a week"? Some people can handle their chronic, smoke everyday, and still be a functioning member of society.
yeah sorry, i knew i was going to get told that. I meant idealy the less the better, personaly i wouldnt smoke more that once a week, even though I have done before haha. but anyway tolerance wise I think once a week. no offence intended. and yes you can be a funcioning member of sociotey even if you smoke more than 5 sessions a day.
I'm not wanting to be controlled by numbers, just want to keep from a tolerance building up. And I mostly asked for educational reasons, I'm a bit of a drug geek as erowid puts it. I've only smoked weed twice, so I'm not to worried.
What ghost of rat is saying is probably true. In fact, it really is true, we daily-tokers just don't want to admit it. Terrence McKenna, when asked about the ideal way to use marijuana, stated that it should be smoked ideally no more than once a week. He later went on to comment that he was an avid cannabis user, and he smoked quite more than once per week. Therefor, if you WANT to restrain yourself to smoking once per week, it's going to be beneficial to your high, but if you WANT to smoke everyday, then do that too- but accept that it'll take more to get high, and probably wont be able to touch the high had you waited a week. Personally, like T-Mac, i can't restrain...but when i used to smoke once a week my highs were much more profound...and i guarantee i go back to that once a week plan, but as for NOW i'm enjoying toking around everyday. Don't worry about tolerance, it's extremely elastic, you can always lose whatever you gain, and gain what you lose so whatever you want NOW is what you should choose.
Only twice!?!? I've seen you posting about your "interest" in a lot of hallucinogens and stuff, you just not into smoking herb?? If so I understand where you're coming from. I'm kind of over MJ as it's been clouding my perception more than it is expanding it, stopped smoking a little while ago. You could say I have a lot of "interest" in psychedelics as well, haha.
this is a joke, right? 1. the half-life of THC is 30 hours, not 14.734. 2. nucleic recycling? come again? 3. tolerance is spelled with one l. 4. you only mention cells in the brain that hold THC. what about the fact that THC is stored in fat cells throughout the entire body and is circulated throughout the bloodstream?
I forget how to calculate half life. It's been a while since I've taken chemistry, if you guys needs something derived then I'm your man.
