Ok, first off, I'll make it clear. I don't like Bush or Blair or their policies. I think going into Afghanistan to find bin Laden was the right choice. We needed to hunt him down. But I think going into Iraq was dumb and stupid. HOWEVER, I hear people talking about how Bush and Blair brought this war on themselves and that it's their fault there are more terrorist attacks than ever before. Ok, fair enough. BUT, if indeed the US and the UK pulled out all their troops from the Mideast, simply said we're outta here, do you guys honestly think that that would END TERRORISM ONCE AND FOR ALL? I mean, seriously, do you think that a radical terrorist would just put down his weapons and bombs and say, "Well, I guess they left, I might as well get back to my old job driving a taxi, that's what I liked doing before this war started anyway!" Bullcrap. Terrorism would still exist and they'd still keep bombing NYC, Madrid and London. SO MY QUESTION IS: How in the hell should we fight terrorism then? If the war in Iraq is so wrong, how do we fight this war "the right way"? Or should we all just hold hands and give peace a chance and sing Kumbayaa.....oh please.
It takes two to tango... many nations that were at war with each are now in peace.. this being a ideology based on thousands of years of shite (pardon the pun), it will take thousands of years to finish .. Thanks jesus allah etc etc etc .
The best way to fight terrorism is to wake up and understand what terrorism really is and who is really behind it, instead of so simple-mindedly believing the chorus line preached by the corporate media. Do you think huge multinational corporations like General Electric, which owns NBC, want you to have the truth? Seriously, people. Think of who really is benefiting from all this "terrorist" hype. Who is benefiting from the wars faught in the name of terrorism? It's not you and me, that's for sure. Frankly, I don't buy even a fraction into all this "terrorism" bullshit that the government and military-industrial complex is feeding us. To me, I see no difference between the CIA, Mossad and al-Qaeda. All of these groups and intelligence agencies, I believe, are controlled and manipulated by the same super-wealthy, super-powerful people at the very top, in order to meet the Elite's goal of a tyrannical One World Government. Most of these Elites I speak of are people you have probably never even heard of. These people stand everything to gain from what causes most regular people a great deal of fear and worry. My advice to everyone is to wake up, smell the coffee, and understand that you are being manipulated. Until this happens, the lie which is the "War on Terror" will never be won. This is considering that it's not a war on terrorism, but a war on you and I, and our freedoms and our civil liberties.
yeh, we have to have a govern, ment that is run by and for the people and fully accountable to them to really fight terrorism. Because corporations gain huglely from fear and panic. We also need to address wht motivates people to terrorism? To say they just hae our freedoms is very nieve, they are usually motivated by imperialism, or oppression.
alright. i may be a lil out of line here, but this is what i think. When we talk about terrorism, what does it mean. Does it mean that if we dont go off to wherever we are that these terrorists are going to take our country over and kill everyone on it? Im not too sure that we are really needing to be so worried. Frankly i think that these "terrorists" must disslike us for a reason..so how about instead of trying to scare them and kill them off, why not we make them like us? They have poverty, they have hunger, they have money problems, they have governmental problems. So lets help with that instead of just making it worst. I mean honestly, how many people are dieing in these terrorist attacks and how many people are dieing from this war? To be honest, i dont see two different sides. They kill our troops and family members, we kill theirs, killing is killing and death is death. Theres no right death just because we're the ones killing. You compare the number of people that die in terrorists attacks and the number of people that have died or are sick or are suffering from this war and i bet you'll find an outstanding difference...so my question to anyone pro war and pro bush is this..do those deaths that are not our matter? Those deaths are our deaths. We mourn our family members killed by terrorist attacks, and they mourn their family members killed in this war...what is the difference...what makes us wrong and them wrong. When will we see that an eye for an eye leaves the world blind.
Yes, you must question what terrorism is and where it comes from. And if you look enough, which is really not that much, you'll see it is the powers that be, creating an enemy to attack the masses to get them behind a stronger government. The Middle East is being played to hate "the great satan" america just as we are being played into thinking poor-ass third worlders are going to take over the world and force us to submit to radical Islam. hahaha even typing that made me laugh. what a fucking joke the war on terror is. but i totally have respect for the soldiers and those who have died and whatnot, they have indeed made a worthy sacrifice to show the rest of us who the real enemy is.
How have they? They have not shown us the real enemy, often they've been attacked by iraqi resistance fighters made up of angry students fed up of the imperisli$t fores in their lands.
but it takes such a big thing like death to get people asking the big questions about life. and thinking in that direction will lead to a greater perception of common sense, which may be the point where you see that governments attack their own people to rally them in fear so they accept totalitarian systems, which is where we could be headed.
stop pushin around everyone & realize we're all human the more the stronger push around the ewaker.. the weaker will want to fight with any resource they have.. being in iraq now will only breed many many more terrorists..
Dont look at things so black and white. Its not a simple matter of just stopping terrorsim. The whole reason that thing is happening is because of two conflicting ideas. We want national open mindness. We have to use communication of the voice instead of the wepons, and tell each other our ideas and values, make compromises to provide justice and then there you have it, WORLD PEACE! But i doubt that it will ever happen due to people are too stuborn to accept each other for who they are. And i knwo i have just contradicted myself by laying out a very simplistic plan because that is anything but black and white... I mean it would be nice if we could have a black and white world of peace, but humans dont want black and white, they want the colour.
stop terrorism where it starts: overthrow the "1st-world" governments of this planet. obviously not a realistic proposal. nobody here can stop it, seeing as how a vast, vast majority believes that the terrorists actually come from overseas, and just can't accept the fact that their own governments are the ones terrorising.
No.. because jihad is a few thousand years old..the excuses change the rationale never does.. As this suggests, jihad is "holy war." Or, more precisely: It means the legal, compulsory, communal effort to expand the territories ruled by Muslims at the expense of territories ruled by non-Muslims. The purpose of jihad, in other words, is not directly to spread the Islamic faith but to extend sovereign Muslim power (faith, of course, often follows the flag). Jihad is thus unabashedly offensive in nature, with the eventual goal of achieving Muslim dominion over the entire globe. Jihad did have two variant meanings through the centuries, one more radical, one less so. The first holds that Muslims who interpret their faith differently are infidels and therefore legitimate targets of jihad. (This is why Algerians, Egyptians and Afghans have found themselves, like Americans and Israelis, so often the victims of jihadist aggression.) The second meaning, associated with mystics, rejects the legal definition of jihad as armed conflict and tells Muslims to withdraw from the worldly concerns to achieve spiritual depth. http://www.danielpipes.org/article/990
Jihad is a Holy War of the mind. It is about living life as a Muslim and keeping your faith in the face of opposing beliefs. It is not a physical war with generals and such. But people take the meaning to another extreme and boom you get islama-fascists, whether real or fabricated.
i spent this morning reviewing the above site. this man is the alex jones of the extreme right and very little he has to say should be taken seriously by anyone with half a brain. i recall the words: "fuck off u conspiracy led poof!", well, what am i to make of daniel pipes? let me rejoin: "fuck off urself u conspiracy led breeder!"
Tell me what jihad is then ?...because that is the only reason i posted that little segment from his site (randomly selected from a search)... I don't have the bloke in my 'favourites' you know..
Violence in response to violence can only lead to further violence. Those who live by the sword, will die by the sword. An eye for an eye only makes the whole world blind. Violence cannot stop violence. We have to break the cycle of violence.
wow thats a lot of cliches ... who would you be addressing that too ?? all sides or just one ?. Personaly i would be directing it east rather than west.
