I'm looking deeply into Astral Projection right now. And I'd like some tips on how to achieve it, I'd also like to know based off of my experiences (below) if I'm nearing the stage So from what I know, there is the conscious stage, sleep paralysis, vibrational stage, and the Astral Realm. I would like to know from personal experiences how you first achieved astral projection, and how long it lasted. how long it took you to achieve (both in mediation time) and attempt time. So like it took 2 weeks, and 10 minutes of mediation for example. Or sleep, or whatever, but I'd prefer to do it in meditation as opposed to the lucid dream method. So my experience from last night was I relaxed my body, pictured a white light falling onto my body like a shield, and the my breathing got into this weird rhytmic pattern, as a buzzing noise came in my ear and my body felt as if it were being shocked by electricity. It didn't scare me though, I kind of lost control and just allowed this flow to seize my body. I think saw a little dot of white light, I thought that meant I was getting close, but then it disappeared and I lost it. I came back down to reality. Although I didn't reach the astral realm, I wasn't mad, I felt very relaxed, and almost like a cleansed feeling. It was very pleasent. I also felt aroused during this vibrational stage which I'm not sure if this is normal. So what do I do? Am I close, do I just wait longer in this stage, or should I be thinking something, or maybe even nothing? Tips would be appreciated. I'm also curious to hear what psychedelic_buddha has to say
These guys here have a lot of info. I like their method of astral travel. I cannot vouch for the other stuff. Robert Bruce has a free PDF download of his first book which I find very good. There are many ways and techniques all over the web. https://www.youtube.com/user/dero7#p/f/0/KbcrDQIZuZM I am liking Dero's way with the candle. Good Luck !!
I almost reached it! I was in the vibrational stage for like the 10th time, and my body aside from my head almost floated up. I've tried for about 5-6 hours in the past couple of days. It is possible, my friend already did it before me. I'm going to attempt this again through LSD, because that can cause an OBE with more "ease" and and OBE by itself will make a self induced one "easier" Just from exiting the body, as that seems to be my only fault.
Interesting concept; astral projection while dreaming Takes lucid dreaming to a whole new level :2thumbsup: Hotwater

a OBE is not astral projection sadly. It is estral projection. ( do not know if i spelled that right or not) Astral projection is when your consciousness leaves your body and goes to the astral plane. You can find numerous youtube videos that help you through guided meditation. Perhaps you should try guided meditation before you try to do it on the solo. Estral projection is when you leave your body and walk amongst this realm. I did astral projection numerous times and it is truly a whole another experience. I do not care what some mainstream people say that is nothing more then lucid dreaming. They try to make a logical explanation but they never experienced it before. Good luck and if you complete it perhaps ill see you in the astral plane
Lucid dreaming is a completely different realm for sure! I've heard someone say that tripping, Lucid Dreaming, Astral Projection, and the collective unconscious was all the same thing.. People will say anything! I'm aware of the etheric body and astral body being separate bodies, but I thought both of these bodies could go through some of the same process. As far as I am aware, the Etheric body is like a direct out of body experience where you can travel the material world, only you can not interact with it. And you should also be able to see other spirits. My friend somehow did it his first try.. and got to travel around the world and to another planet very vividly. Then I think Astral projection is also an OBE, but it's more like a DMT trip, so you go into another dimension entirely, so it's not like you'll see your physical body. -That's my understanding But I'd like to know Psychedelic_Buddha, how long did it take you to learn to astral project? And how often can you do it now? I've been doing it for about an 1-2+ every day for a couple of weeks, and I can feel myself getting close, but I haven't reached it yet.
As I sit comfortably, I become aware of my subconscious Within my mind And I begin to focus my mind On my body of light And I visualize that I have a body of light And I feel and sense my body of light Like a halo of light around me And I feel this light As real as I feel my physical body And now I visualize an experience I feel Myself stepping away from my physical body And I feel Myself becominng this body of light Completely seperate from my physical body But this body of light is free From the limitations of the flesh And I feel my body of light Rising upwards away from my physical body And up through the sky And I feel myself high above As a body of light And I feel my hands and feet But they are light And I feel the same Except filled with light and peace And in this light I I become free from all limitations And I feel myself high above And now I feel myself entering into a region of golden white light And in this region of golden white light I feel at peace And I feel Myself high above And I feel Myself radiating this light to the world And now I feel myself radiating this light to the world And now I feel I am A body of light and can fly as free as a bird And I feel myself flying high above
MY kind of topic.... I actually suffer from derealization and depersonalization so it should be easy for me to explain. Have you ever heard of nonduality? Its a philosphical idea that states everything stems from your subconscious, You are god, Everything you are around is a projection of your mind. This is a figmant of your imagination and everything that revolves revolves around you for fate is what you want it to be. Anyways this helps me obtain an OBE. Here is how to start. Try to picture your face, Try looking at yourself at an agle at a portait and from below the jaw. Think of every detail you can possibly visualize. Next attempt it from a farther distance as in, the corner of the cieling. Now try and rotate around your face mantaining focus on your body. After this you are ready to freely move around your house, try and remember everything this will make it more lucid. Now when you can successfully feel an OBE or see it you can probably leave your house, I usually tend to fly around. It's imperative you meditate before you do this or while you do it. Me myself dont go through all of that because this is something that comes naturally for me. Another way I obtain an OBE is to picture life as a grid, think of feelings, touch, sight EVERYTHING are pinpointed on this grid of life. Try and realize this grid as your playing field and control it. And my favorite way to actually feel an OBE as if its part of my daily life. I picture a soul within my body, and my physical being is a shell that I am acustomed too but only a lie I need to break free of, I simply remember the feel of falling and picture my body dropping and at the same time I try and visualize my back and lower body as I drop farther and farther distancing progressively. I am now back on the grid of life and my will is certain. I fly around in the blank grid for a while and then I go through the sudden realization of existence and relapse back to my physical world in which I can freely move about. Now if this wasnt easy enough or detailed enough I would love to go in depth and would love a OBE partner, I never looked at this ability as a blessing though. I Whent crazy for a number of days questioning my existence and whether to test it or not with a knife and self destructive behaviour. But then again I have lived with this most of my life so its practically expected I stoop to such levels. ANYWAYS, I am sure you will have an amazing experience and will fall in love with this, I just needed the right mentality. Here is something I posted earlier about my experience with nonduality http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=443041&f=46 Such a belief really extends chances to achieve anything really, kind of hard to not succeed in fact. PM for any questions or concerns. By the way, are you dreaming? *Wink, Reality check*
I've tried this multiple times. Not had any luck. I like your signature though. :] Is there a meditation transition into astral projection? Also, is it going to be kinda of mental images or ACTUAL visual images?
I've had two really small experiences since I opened this thread, I meditated beforehand yes. You have to get your mind at ease, slip it into a different frequency very literally, which actually happens naturally when you sleep, so guess what? Theres kind of a cheat system into causing an OBE. On a weekend, if you have time to sleep in, when you first kind of wake up, but stay in bed (you can even get up and go to the bathroom if you have to) but anyways you lay in bed, and you then start meditating. You are already relaxed and in a lower brain wave, on the bridge of a different level of consciousness, you hear some sort of buzzing noise in your ear that you follow allowing its energy to flow into one of your chakras, and very soon you will either wiggle out of your body or slip into a dream. Either way it's kind of interesting, but I got this to happen and I hit my ceiling of my bedroom and had a bit of struggle -like swimming underwater while floating in my room, and I went to the window and pushed myself outside, everything was very vivid and real, but I then felt the need to return my to my body. So I flew fast back into my physical body and was seeing black while paralyzed for like 2-3seconds and then I got up feeling drained yet refreshed. Very excited too!
I got into this for a while, but invariably drifted off to sleep. I could never manage to get relaxed enough in a position that was not condusive to sleep. I still use the same technique for restorative meditation, migraines and even an occasional toothache. The dreams I've occasionally had after dozing off were not the normal fare, but more often than not they elude me by the time I'm fully awake - which pisses me off. I'm a lazy ass meditator - which also pisses me off.
Oh wow. I want to try this sometime. This sounds like it could indeed be scary! So when and if I get out, do I just think about where to go? And I go? I have had one lucid dream and that's how it was. Will this be similar? What's the difference between lucid dreaming and astral projection?
Ya I go lucid a lot, so I know more about that, a lucid dream usually takes the form of waking up in whatever world/environment that you have already been placed in, and unless your talented enough, you cannot change the world, you just choose what to do in it. All the characters are dream enigmas and you kind of find yourself alone in your mind Astral projection, has different realms of which you can find, I haveonlytouchedthephysical plane,in which case it's easiest to compare to as a ghost. My spirit body flew above my physical body, but remained in the physical realm, I could sense the room and outdoors, in fact even clearer than I see right now, but I could not interact with it. Higher realms is where it gets more spiritual, and I haven't been there yet. But you can talk to different future or past selves, you can tap into an infinite source of knowledge of where other spirits from our world and others have been, like Leonardo da Vinci, Plato, it's
Not too long ago, I think I may have nearly astral projected for my first time. I was laying down in my bed one night, and I decided to listen to an OBE Induction video on youtube, as well as a lucid dream induction video, both containing binaural beats. Here's one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhHYN2FuBss I've been training myself to let my body fall asleep, and to keep my mind awake, and I feel as if I have been slowly but surely mastering this. The night I was practicing it while listening to the video above, I managed to lose feeling in my body, and focus on my breathing. Eventually I felt a blanket of numbness over my body, and then out of nowhere, I experienced a tingling sensation I have never felt before. It spread out across my body, and then I became excited because it was something I never experienced before. I imagined myself astral projecting and stuff, but I was just too excited, and I eventually lost it. Was I close? If I was, what would you guys recommend I do next time to push myself over the edge and fly?
I wanna try this. Is it possible to have a bad scary experience with astral projection? Like, a bad trip sort of?
i've been reading a lot about astral projection lately and it's so interesting! i've never actually successfully had an OBE ,, just yet.. but i do have some experience with sleep paralysis and that can be just the most terrifying thing ever
