It all depends on the person, the job field, etc. For instance, you get into law or accounting and you start out with intern jobs from hell. But if you get into electronics, or management, or mechanics, you can usually start out with a pretty good job. And the degree isn't what makes it worth it -- it's the extra money, and placement in the field because you have a degree that makes it worth it.
Law – There was a guy recently who went to Boston College Law School and has offered to return his degree for a full refund because he can’t find a job and is in debt for over $100,000 dollars in tuition costs :bigcry: Hotwater
Yeah, some law school was actually getting sued by a group of graduates for misrepresenting the job expectancy. You'd think that's one thing that this country couldn't have enough of these days...
Or the huge number of jobs that require a degree to even touch the field. Which is turning into most things that don't involve sales or labour.
I dropped out because of stress and it was a big mistake and was really hard to get going again. So keep your goals in mind and know that it is all worth it. I found pilates and yoga to be very helpful, also drinking (but you don't have to follow my advice on that one! )
Not to everyone, my degree will never get me very much money but I don't care. I wanted to get the degree for my own personal fulfillment, not money or prestige.
i smoke weed for the stress, but im stressed because i always procrastinate, and i always procrastinate because i would rather be stoned. deadly cycle. like say for instance right now i have 3 papers due before the 25th and instead of writing them im sitting here getting stoned posting on hipforums. destined for failure.
Yeah, there's always a few RA's who tell you to open your window, and a fuckton who will sic the pigs on your ass. Neighbors almost bit the dust last night, saw a deputized RA walking out with a uni police radio, saying he saw and smelled nothing. They'd been clearly drinking 40's, as visible from the window....
its a joke at my school we had a floor meeting when i first moved in and our RA said in front of everyone to not bottles out in the open and not to drink in front of the dorm so much for our dry campus haha edit: i think it has something to do with it being an almost all black school
My school is about half black. Black students alliance has been causing bans on various poetry, according to the campus newspaper. And they're proud of it. I think it has something to do with college involving ethanol, and you lucking out on as far as an RA goes.
there are dorms here without a single RA living in them... i go to the most unorganized suny school there is youll find kids smoking blunts in front of the dorms at all times of the day... its unreal and i dont understand how you guys seriously think drinking more is going to help her get her work done on time
I one day packed my car and left for Flordia and returned 2 years later. That is how I handled the stress. I learned more I think.
lucky bastards. my dorm had 2 RAs per floor (one for each gender). and it was a tall skinny tower dorm, so each RA represented fewer than 20 people. it was easy enough to get away with shit, but that's because my RA was an idiot, not because he let us. it's not going to help her get her work done on time; it's going to make her not care as much that she didn't get her work done on time.
