I have downloaded all kinds of "Free"programs that say they delete Trojans from your computer, but ever time I try to use it,they say I need to pay $$$,all most of them do is scan and find the Trojan.

So can anybody recommend a free program that deletes this crap?...If there is a free one out there...I think the Trojan is messing with my internet connection...It goes off and on on it's own at random times. My comp is running really funky...Please help!:)

How to remove Trojan? I usually just roll it back of my member. LOL Oh, sorry, different Trojan. I have three programs working in conjunction with each other and it seems to work well. These are all free programs you can download. I have AVG and AntiVir as virus programs and I also have Spyware Terminator. You can do a google search for all three of these programs and you will find free download sites for them. For me, with these three programs, my computer stays virus free and spyware and adware free as well, and all at no cost. All programs are updated daily and are programmed to scan my system daily.

There are different cleaning tools and antivirus programs out there avg was already mentioned in the previous posts another good choice is Avast antivirus it can be found here first you should register the program in order to get a registration key which will give you full program access.
Programs needed for system security and maintenance
    1)Avast antivirus
    download link
    2)Spybot antispyware
    download link
    3)Ad-Aware antispyware
    download link
    4)CCleaner(CrapCleaner).
    download link

1)After downloading and installing Avast you should disconnect from the internet, and perform the scan while disconnected from the internet.
2)After removing the virus/trojan the instalation will be completed.
3)Run Spybot antispyware to remove spyware and other webmalware.
4)Run adaware antispyware to remove spyware and other webmalware.
5)After the removal of the virus/trojan and other malware you could try to do a sytem cleanup with CCleaner.
6)Reconnect to the internet and reboot.

    Hope it helps....:)

In this day and age, my friend....
The only way you're going to say goodbye to every last little critter on your hard drive is gonna be to throw the bloody thing in a river...

Just download/buy a good spyware killer/blocker and nail as many as you can.

Or while your computer is infected - go to astalavista.com and have a little look around their site - very useful if you are a poor student or otherwise broke
see what they got - here ya go
download a shareware version from the author then
type the name of your program into this box
    Code:
    http://astalavista.box.sk
then store a copy of it on disk with your program
(a separate disk to the c:\ drive)
then wipe your cdrive reinstall windoze
and put your full copy of the shareware there too
    experiment and you shall see

To get rid of that you (I assume its XP or win 2000)
    right click my computer
    select properties
    select - restore
turn off restore on all drives
If you use XP - now click the start button
    select run
    type into the box
    msconfig
now use your judgement about what is and is not valid software in the startup files - disable all that looks like spyware
now in services - hide all MS services and again judge what might be spyware and disable it (DO NOT DISABLE MS SERVICES UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU R DOING !
nowrun your antivirus and reboot -
now re-run your antivirus software again
    no infection ! Right ????
    cool !
IF THERE IS STILL INFECTION LET ME KNOW
The system restore points are stores in
    C:\system volume information\
it is safe to delete everything that is in that folder
to do this look up how you go into safe mode
then when in safe mode just delete all below
    C:\system volume information\
If it wont let you delete then have your AV or antispy quarantine it

    TrendMicro House Call

    TrojanScan Scanner only.

    Symantec Removal Tools

    Symantec On Line Scanner

    McAfee Avert Stinger

All good, all free. Like Columbo says you have to turn off system restore. They hide in there, and programs like AVG will still detect them after they have been cleared from the general OS files.

I wouldn't advise shutting down services from within msconfig. If you do that then you will always be running your system on selective startup instead of normal. Go to start/run type in services.msc and hit OK. Double click on the service and change the startup type from auto to manual or disabled.

I just this minute found another trick these people use

press ctrl alt del look at the running processes
you may notice a process called svchost thats ok
but if you see one called scvhost then terminate it
then you click run on the start menu
    type regedit
then open a search box and take out any reference to scvhost

also search in regedit for explorer
if there is any instance that looks like this
    explorer.exe scvhost.exe
thats another way to start malware up
so check that in the startup sequence explorer.exe starts alone it should only read
    explorer.exe

i have a very nasty trojan thats corrupted al my anti virus and spyware programs, if i use my rescue disk to wipe the computer will it remove the trojan as well? I have been told it sounds like i need a complete system rebuild as in software. They said they will need to put my stuff into a safe computer sort it then put it all back again when its done. cost 45 pounds.

Yes if you use a rescue disk it will wipe the trojans, as well as all your data. Most Trojans can be cleaned without doing that. Do you know the name of the Trojan you have. Do you have an updated anti-virus program on your machine? Do you have more than one hard drive? Has your anti-virus program tried to clean the machine, and kill the Trojan?
