I have always heard that aloe is good to use...it is common knowledge. I had also always heard that Bronners was good to use. I thought (for until maybe a week ago) that you just washed with Bronners like regular shampoo...Now i know you are supposed to cut it with alot of water(12:1 was the one i read) so that got me thinking about Aloe, I am going to buy a plant maybe or the gel at a healthfood store, but I don't know if I have the right idea in my head about using it so I palm roll it in? do I just put a bit on the top? do I cut it with water?(ha), do I offer it as a sacrafice to Shiva? I just realised that I have NO IDEA what to do with Aloe! so I bet you do! help a guy out =)
You could get 100% pure aloe gel at a health food store and mix with a bit of water and use it in a spray bottle.
I bought an aloe plant (named it Timothy, that helps him grow) and break off full leaves at a time, squeeze the gel into a 2oz spray bottle (mind the spikes) and dilute it a little with water and peppermint oil (optional) just spray it on the scalp, or into your hands and sort of rub through the dreads. works nicely
Ah, thanks guys! Now I have some clues as to what to do =) I will tell you how it goes when I get around to it(maybe with a nice picture thread or something) thanks
i almost nevr use it but when i have i just smeared it in my hands & rubbed it in all over, no dilution no spray bottle but thats just me & may not have been the best method for u
I have a plant (Called voldermort, so when I forget his name I can just go the plant who cannot be named). I just squeeze the goo out and whack it into my dreads without diluting it. I should try the spray though. Note: If you buy an aloe vera plant, its gotta be around a year old or the goo wont be that strong.
Yeah, I don't use a spray bottle. I could never get the gel to mix in with the water... I just put a little dab in my palm, rub my hands together, and then smooth down the frizzies a little. I'd think that spraying it you'll get more than you need...and while aloe vera's good stuff, too much can act as a conditioner and slow down the dreading process. I just use it to keep frizzies less obvious...
i have never actually used aloe in my hair, but if i were to have an itchy head I would rub it on my head for moisture. I wouldnt put it in if i wasnt absolutly needing it. Im to affraid of mold.
