Ok. Fairly generic question but haven't seen it on here before. So let's say that some time in the next 20 years marijuana will be legalized. How will it be done? Will it be something like it's legalized for a use of something other than an intoxicant? Or will it be just like alcohol and be sold in stores? What do you think?

People need to create political pressure otherwise it will never be legalized.

as always i beg to differ, i think it wil be.

we have already seen the will of the people bhind it - Denver, or the UK (over half say to legalise).

it's just the people right at the top who aren't backing down... but as time moves on and more and more people start catching on, they gotta give in.

i think its a matter of time. the will of the people is there, yet the people in charge aren't letting it happen, yet. and they say we live in a democracy!

See over in the UK you might think that... but you gotta see whats happening over here. The people at the top have the people at the very bottom (common society) wrapped around their finger. I mean come on... if you can take over prime time TV you basicly won the American people. Nuf said

Or, you know, stupid people in general. You don't have to be American to be obsessed with television, or vice versa. There are plenty of us who rarely watch t.v., myself included. Mainly the only time I watch it is for Futurama, Family Guy and the like before bed.
So, you could think before you make generalizations like that.

yeh i suppose you know more about me in the situation in the usa, so fair enough, just what i had gathered from places such as denver etc. then it might have been plausable.

at any rate i see legalisation in the uk happnening within 10 years, at the very most 20.

I think the percentage of people for it is greater than the amount against it, therefore it's only a matter of time before we overthrow the governments laws about weed.

What makes you think that? If the government knows they will make more money on fines, charges and arrests rather than taxing it, they won't think twice about keeping it that way.

The government decides the legality of things, not the people

Denver. The people voted to legalise. The federal government stopped the local authority doing it.

UK. The majority want pot to be decriminilized. It still isn't though.

Marijuana will become legal when big corperation falls... meaning.. the logging industry falls apart... big oil is destroyed... and when pharmacutical industries go bankrupt from no one being able to afford modern medicine... so.. somewhere in the next 50yrs... yes.. some of these are more hemp alternatives than marijuana alternatives... but if we cant make something that has a minimal % of THC content legal.. then marijuana will never be legal... maybe we should worry more about states passing laws for industrial hemp before you start taking a much larger step such as legalizing marijuana... marijuanas little brother hemp is the corner stone of marijuana legalization.. so HEMP FOR FREEDOM!!! and marijuana will follow

I think it will be legalized when They realize that they need to focus their concentrion more on the Crysatl Meth epidemic, which is far more hazardous, and just kinda let the stoners go on about their regular stoned lives. They are obviously becoming more and more concerned about that, and sooner or later they will realize that weed is, basically, harmless. Some people do have a psychologically addiction, and that is not so good, but as long as it doesn't cause people emotional problems and is nowhere near as harmful as they originally thought it was, it will increasingly be viewed as nothing more than a way to relax and imrove people's lives. There are those few that let it get to them and let it totally ruin their lives, but the odds of that happening are far less likely as they are with alcohol and cigarettes. Legalization will come, in time, but until it does we have to do everything in our power to prove them that their excessive fear of weed wrong and unfounded..

Yes, because as we all know - the government is concerned about your health. That is why cigarettes and alcohol is perfectly legal.
