I have not read all the respnses but found many I did intetesting. I think folks cantake the burden of the thought off their selves. Powers a lot bigger than we are will enforce depopulation by both radical methods and subtle. We have been all along. The other point is that this evolution seems to me to be about intelligence, however, the cuts are so big that it will probably come down to money as usual. No matter how big a pos you are, money instead of human qualities will determine survival. Dismal future for the human race eh?

Excuse me, but that attitude is not going to make the human race better. I didn't become the environmentally conscience person that I am because someone told me I would be a bad person if I didn't. I did it because I learned how fragile nature is and how important it is for human life, my life, my kitten's life, my neighbour's horse's life, my boyfriends life... ever single person you've ever met has depended on the precious resources of this planet.
These evil people you speak of... just don't understand that what they're doing is destructive. If they "don't care" they are choosing the "ignorance is bliss" route. It is up to people who do understand the finite nature of our planet to meet these people (not by seeking them out, but by meeting them) and learning why they think that way, and learning how to make them understand why the way they think is destructive. Then helping them to understand us. Sometimes some people aren't meant for us to help... but you can't control other people's lives. People who try to control people are consistently rejected by the few who keep outside the sheople heard. Don't give up hope. It's the only thing we have.

Someone on these forums awhile ago had this quote from Robert Audrey (whose hypothesis about man's predecessors is largely thought to be false) which I found to be heartening, and particularly pertinent to this discussion.

"We were born of risen apes, not fallen angels, and the apes were armed killers besides. And so what shall we wonder at? Our murders and massacres and missiles, and our irreconcilable regiments? Or our treaties whatever they may be worth; our symphonies however seldom they may be played; our peaceful acres, however frequently they may be converted to battlefields; our dreams however rarely they may be accomplished. The miracle of man is not how far he has sunk but how magnificently he has risen. We are known among the stars by our poems, not our corpses." - Robert Ardrey

I read through some of the posts and found the writer of this thread to be interesting. I can feel that way, at times, too....

There is a problem of overpopulation...and look at these poor, starving countries, with sex as their only recreation, because they are uneducated.....so theyhave more children that get dseases or die from starvation...makes absolutey no sense.
It is like a cage of mice...too many in there...fighting and disease break out, if you want to think of it that way.

Other times, I feel more poetic about the human race....

but many are takers and users and don't give a shit really.

However, extermination part, there. That is a bit over the top. Would you choose and be the exterminator....? I think birth control is needed and no blocksor boundaries for abortions, either.

    Quality...not quantity.....

a simpler way to define what i mean.

We are taking all of the wild life places, too and they have less and less places to go.......Man seems to think that earth is his playground alone...and I don't mean all men, by any means.

Moonglow - that makes sense. I gotta agree with what you said.

The OP... wow. It's funny, actually... you'd be the thing you're trying to destroy. You'd be killing people as a hate crime. What would that make you?

it just comes down to what we are as a species. a failed mutation that camnot get it's act together. all we do is wreck our habitat and kill each other or lie, cheat, steal. and money is the root of happiness. we all need it to live and if we don'r have it what do you think will happen? mass chaos and bloodshed. what does that say about humans as a species? we are greedy lot.

I've thought about all of that. Even wrote a crazy manifesto about the topic while tripping on mushrooms a long time ago. I came to the conclusion that modern humans were created by the sun and our mission was to destroy earth so the sun could gobble it up and use it for fuel/food. I determined that the humans that thrive in the fixed, corrupt, destructive, blind, ignorant, consumerist, industrial nightmare that's destroying both the environment and the human genome are the result of either some kind of genetic mutation or subject to some kind of mind control that people such as you and I don't have receptors for or something...

Anyway, at the end of the manifesto, I came to the conclusion that we can run our current course, eventually killing everything on earth and blowing the atmosphere out into space, or we can go back to living in harmony with nature, let go of the destructive and unreasonable myths, needs, greed, and hangups of civilization as we know it, and return to a sustainable, peaceful, nomadic, tribal lifestyle.

Ever since this trip, I've noticed that certain people have a different energy about them. They've seen what's been happening for a while and have tuned out of the scheduled programming. They're starting intentional communities, building earthships, starting permaculture farms, going on cycle tours to spread sustainability awareness, developing alternative energy systems....all kinds of stuff. The only reason that this stuff isn't going viral is that people are still clinging to the capitalist/fiat currency model. Once these people figure out that open source, diy, collaboration is the way of the future, those that want to will be able to leave the old destructive ways behind.

What happens to the ones that choose to keep their heads in the sand and keep playing a corrupt, unsustainable game, will simply be a result of nature as all unsustainable actions, by definition, can't continue forever. In short, one way or another, that bs will take care of itself. ;)

I still hold onto a bit of hope because there's still a chance that if enough people start showing their friends and families that they can thrive, off grid, outside of the corrupt system, the transition from destructive consumerism to sustainable contributionism could be incremental and peaceful instead of coming about as a necessity after a worldwide economic collapse.

I decided to be on the peaceful transition due to collaborative advancement of green tech and permaculture team instead of the extermination team...which has almost been self extermination a few times.

The only questions one dealing with these thoughts should have is, "Which team am I on?" "What would I rather focus on every day, creative collaboration and community or greed, competition, and violence?"

It's interesting when certain individuals talk about how shitty humans are as a whole, they never seem to be looking at themselves; as if something is wrong with the rest of the world and nothing is wrong with them. Seems like a self serving bullshit way to make one feel superior.

No, humans were a great creation. until they became corrupt! To the point of believing it so much they blindly and falsely admit to it.

Some definitely are, but the good ones need to band together and stand up for what's right. More people need to begin judging everyone else on an individual basis. :)

Less judging, more respecting and cooperating. ;) But yes, if the good folks get together and figure out sustainable ways to live, and nothing too bad happens, the shitty folks and their jacked up system will fade away.

^This post made me get out of my chair just now and pace around for a few minutes.

I just saw this video less than 2 hours ago and Sherry reminded me so much of my Aunt, I just had to watch the whole video:

^This video seems to answer a lot of questions, about a lot of things..

Does this oneness include all other life forms on earth, as well?

Also, for the child born with aids and starving in Africa, was that their choice from another life....their low frequencies of another life, made them born into hell this time around?
