I searched for this and didn't find anything, so forgive me if this has been asked or discussed before. Last night I smoked a bowl outside (I recently moved back in with my parents) and almost as soon as I finished my lungs started to ache. They don't hurt as much when I'm sitting or lying down unless I take a deep breath. This has never happened to me before, and I've smoked in varying degrees of frequency for the past two years. It might be because it was cold so I smoked a lot faster than I usually would and my lungs just aren't used to that. It was also really compressed when I got it, I don't have a grinder so I had to cut it with scissors before breaking it up. Could that have anything to do with it? It didn't seem especially harsh at the time. I'm pretty sure you don't get pneumonia from sucking in freezing air, so I don't think it's that, but when I went on WebMD and typed that my chest hurt when I breathe, a warning came up saying to go to the hospital immediately. I'm guessing it's nothing but that kinda freaked me out. Anyone experience this?
one time last year my lungs hurt like that, but I think it is more due to the cold weather, it's like exercising, you are breathing more and deeper so you probably got too much cold air.
Are you using a pipe or a bong? A bong would be easier on the lungs, especially if you put ice in the water.
Oh, also, smoking out your window is pretty safe, depending how close your room is to your parents. Burn incense if your nervous about the smell, and play music if you're nervous about the sound.
I was using a glass bowl, and I wasn't smoking out the window, I was outside. My parents already know I smoke pot, and they don't want me to do it in the house, so I don't.
I would say pneumonia, but if you really had it breathing would bother you so much you would want to go to the doctor...i got it back in october it sucked balls...but anyway i would say its the cold air.
Yeah it went away the next day, I assume it's either the cold air or I just smoked too much too fast.
i'm no doctor, but it sounds like the AIDS. ps- maybe see an actual doctor. or quit smoking weed if it irritates your lungs.
It's not the most healthy thing to inhale smoke. It's not as bad as cig smoke, but still not as good as air. I had a similar thing happen after a few years of smoking, and that pain won't get any better. maybe you could try a vaporizer, they do wonders, and a basic one is maybe $60 so not too bad
