hydroponic watering system

this confuses the shit out of me.. if you know how hydroponics works and pleasee explain to me how to start it off..like the seed.. do i have to grow it on soil a little bit and then take the plant out the soil and into the watering system (the gravels with water or watever other options there is) or do i just put the seed(sprouted obviously) in the watering system(gravel)and watch it grow. ?? id bee rly thankful if you got an answer

 

it depends what your using.

ebb and flos fill up a tray of water every so often, then drain it.
deep water culture bubbles oxygen through a large container of water that the plant lives in/over

 

You plant the seeds in rockwool?

 

Yes you can start seeds or clones in rockwool,but you have to pre soak it for 24 hours in water with a ph of 5.5 then your good to go.
