this beautiful bird that i love in the dream (i really dont know it, but i am attached to it in the dream) Takes me on a ride. then that night, i leave him where i always do, but in the morning it has been taken by someone. I write a letter to this person and when it comes back, i start crying uncontrollably becasue the bird has died or been killed or something.. then i wake up wrying.. any idea on what this means?

    Hi nightstar

let me share an idea with you if you want.

Maybe it is not so much about what the dream means but about what the tears mean and the vulnerability that your dream helped you to enter and experience, and wake up with ... not being lost or apart from who you are but changed and in this more complete, much like the bird in your dream. It is what you have been looking out for.

And so you might bless the person who took the bird and thank her for helping you to find yourself, and forgive her, and go on, or fly on wings of your own from now on. Like you, she desires to fly on the winds of her own choices and not fail to who she is and be free, and while sharing her dream with you she is asking for nothing but acceptance.

The bird is about many things. It is about birth, passage and death which is just change, and the wonder and beauty of being part of it all. It is about the womb that sets you free and the umbilical cord in need to be untied. It is about the heart and courage to be you and the trust inside that you too will not fail even when facing a world that seems just full of riddles. It maybe is just about love that asks you to be set free from inside out.

But in the end, it is you who knows better what it is about.

to me birds represent freedom (don't ask why). it sounds to me like maybe your frightened of your freedom being taken away.
