every pair of docs I've ever owned I wore the sole out on before the leather was fucked. once they are broken in they are the shit, but the first couple days suck ass. just bought a pair of cherry glazed boots about two weeks ago and am in the process of busting those bitches in.
I have a pair of Goretex motorcycle boots.. I wear them every day...and I can tell you..they last http://www.hideout-leather.co.uk/folders/touring_boots/ P.S.I never wear shoes..or very seldom.. Tiger
go check out this site www.thoseshoes.com this guy is awesome and if they ever wear out he wil re-do them. plus there just so cool.
skateshoes can last quite a long time unless you use them for skating lol but most people dont for some reason, but yeah skateshoes.
I've had a pair of Timberland boots now for 9 years!!! They were a little pricey but well worth it. They're comfy and durable..[I worked on a produce farm with them for 3 of the yrs]..ya know~ the classic brown with the green tongue..they rock!
For sandals; 9 years ago my orthopedic surgen basically prescribed Birkenstocks after she performed surgury on my foot. They are sandals but I've worn them every summer for the past 9 years and they're still kicking ass. I wore them alot and even walked in muddy water with them. They started to get a little frayed just last summer but i figure i've still got a couple more years with them. I've seen ppl with sandals that couldn't even last the summer, if I ever need another pair of sandals it will be these again
Chaco sandals Z line: made in colorado, not China, resole and restrap options, water nd weather proof. I have two pair and have worn nothing but since 1998 (pair one) and 2002 (pair two)
i've been wearing my DC's almost daily since December 23, 2003 (though i spent most of the summer of '04 barefoot)
I've had my Vans for three years and outside of my tevas during the summer, they are the only shoes I wear when not at work.
you can try "rossi" boots from australia (eagles) probably not practical to get them where you are but...
Doc Martens along with most big leather boots will last a long long time. But it depends what your goin doin with them.... Do you plan on walking through Europe or something?
I have a pair of Rockport hiking boots and Sperry deck shoes... Rockport sandals. I always get them on sale. They always last awhile.
i plan to do what i have been doing, walking around the city i will also be riding bike to class/work everyday. i will be doing numerous things lasting air-reaching feet shoes. leather is out of the question unless there are large holes for ventilation. and such
I don't wear shoes. except sometimes in the winter. But unless its deep snow, I just wear sandals...for places that "require" you to wear shoes, just bring some sandals or mocassins or anything like that with you.
