I applied for an apartment today

put down a deposit... just waiting on dagnermoose's application which has to be faxed.

anyway, this apt is freaking AWESOME. it's beautiful, and cheap and HUGE. it's 1080 sq ft at $499 a month, right by the mall, but out of the way of traffic, not too far from my work, and is on the top floor (third) with a balcony and fireplace. since the current residents lived there for so long they're replacing the carpet and tile. i really really hope we get it i said we can prepay all six months and she said basically we just have to pass the background checks (we both have clean records, not even driving/parking tickets) and she said it should be ready by feb 1st at the latest.

anyway, i am very excited, and anxious! and just wanted to tell everybody!

Lubbock, TX. it's incredibly cheap to live here because all that is really here is the regional hospitals and the university. LOTS of students all over, LOTS of apartments, and interest rates to get houses are very low right now too. if i had any credit i'd be interested in buying a house unfortunately i don't have any.

hehe there are a lot of myths among texans.... many believe that if we vote on it, we are the only state that can secede from the union...

ihmurria, i don't know if we'd be closer there or here but visiting would be nice! we're also planning on moving up to the great white north in a couple years

 

actaully i think texas is closer to you than toronto...
so we're still within visiting distance, and it'll be a two bedroom...as if you'd be sleeping in a seperate bed

yep i just checked and lubbock is actually 4 hours closer than toronto from saskatoon, so now you're forced to visit us

 

that is so true though.... texas is still filled with MANY varying climates and political oulooks (though still a red state wherever ya look at it)

oh and i found out that we have 5 of the top top fattest US cities the other day.... isn't that something to be proud of?! (i watched the last half super-size me)

aha, I just looked up bus stuff on greyhound... it's only about $80 from teh border as long as I book 7 days in advance (well, one way, was too lazy to switch it to round trip), and to teh border is probly only 50-60 ish Canadian (yay for student discounts with STC... Saskatchewan Transportation Company)

grey hound would be cheaper straight from saskatoon instead of adding the STC bill on....but at anyrate, greayhound service is terrible the further west and south you go...north eastern states its great...but if you look a map of greyhound routes you see it gets sparser and sparser the further west and south you go....mind you, we'd still love to have your company i jsut had a bad experince with greyhound

edit- if you book 14 days in advance you can get the go anywhere fare for 200 dollars...which would take you from saskatoon to lubbock and back for 200 canadian
