I watched Fast Food Nation last night with my husband. And then after they talked about there being shit in the meat, I dreamed about it, and then I researched it, found out it was true, and then I woke up and had some hot and spicy beef. And now I want to puke, cause I don't think I can eat meat anymore. I think I'm going to go vegetarian, I don't want to, cause I love meat. It doesn't affect me how they slit the throats so the blood runs out when they're hanging upside down... and I don't agree with setting a bunch of thousands and thousands of cows free considering how that would put waste all over the damn country, and then how that would cause major issues with the safety of our kids and our people and then wrecks like it did that one state decided to stop hunting.

But I have a problem, with hiring illegal immigrants and then having them lose limbs and then they say nothing about it because, well they're illegal. I have a problem with there being shit in the meat, and it being so, so very , very disgusting. . . I don't know I'm grossed out what do you people think.

I think that you shouldn't worry so much. A lot of things aren't they way they seem in this world, but it doesn't mean that we should stop enjoying them. The meat may have unwanted ingredients in it, but at the same time it is at a plateau of safety and lack of disease. Back in the day humans used to tear into a bloody carcass with our teeth... probably a little less sanitary.

...and the illegal immigrants? They are perfectly aware of the risks they take as they agree to work in an industry. I'm sure that the illegal immigrants are happy enough to have a job to begin with... and don't mind loosing a limb or two, otherwise they would stop working there.

If you dont agree with it then by all means go vegetarian and dont eat junk food. Dont just go along with something because someone told you to or because everyone else is. Dont worry but stear clear of stuff like that. If you need meat why not go for a local producer?

Uh...it's only in cosher slaughterhouses that they leave the cow to bleed to death, I know for certain they don't do that in German slaughterhouses.

I haven't eaten a hamburger for over a decade, but I do go to KFC sometimes for their Twister Combos...those are nice.

argh....the jungle! that is one freaky book!

fastfood nation was one of the saddest movies i've seen recently. towards the end of the movie when they finally show how the shit gets in the meat i was so sad and grossed out i put my quilt over my head so i couldn't see all the gore....awful awful stuff! my boyfriend was asleep on top of the remote and my leg was pinned under his...so i was trapped witnessing the end of that horrifying film. i'm so glad to be veggie. guess i'll never wear a shit-eat'n grin heh heh heh!

all animals have to bleed out,, tis just how it is,,, methods of killing, for kosher vs non are different and yes that is super sick even for my meat rasing butchering self.....

Simple solution is, grow your own meat or buy local where you know the butcher and growers etc,,,

i'm not sure if the OP was referring to letting them bleed to death... i know in our local slaughterhouse they kill the animal ( mostly pigs in the particular case i'm familiar with), and then once it's dead they slit the throat to let the excess blood out

Hunt for your meat/ raise animals such as pigs and whatnot to slaughter yourself/ buy from trusted sources such as the amish. Its easier than you think to not eat fast food or over- engineered candy bars. Eat better and you body and wallet will thank you at the expense of a little time spent cooking (which you would spend waiting in line otherwise)

yeah..i was an apprentice on a small homestead for awhile and it was no small task raising yer own animals. plus you couldn't really go anywhere...unless you had a friend who was willing to come to do morning and evening chores....and that would have to be SOME friend i tell you...cause most folks in that area were busy with their own farming chores.

Well what do you do to get food now? Spend time at work to get money to buy food. Instead you spend time to raise animals for food, sure it takes more time and effort, but you take money out of the equation, which is just peachy in my books.

Just start buying your meat from a deli.

^^ I know cochure is fucking retarded like that, cutting the throat innitialy, instead of killing it. I cant help but be anti-semetic.

so i guess you plan on feeding these animals good intentions? instead of spending time at work to get money to buy food, you can spend time at work to get money to buy animal feed, then go feed them and water them every day, keep their pens clean, keep all fences in good repair to keep them in and keep predators out, call and pay the vet for neutering/any health problems, butcher them, and finally be back where we started

vegetarians are just missing out, were born to love meat, back in the day when humans lived off plants because thats all there was, when meat came around, it was a delicacy full of things humans need to stay alive. ya fast food is crappy food, you shouldn't eat that anyways, but if you eat natural healthy meat, you body and taste buds will thank you
