I remember as a kid I could never beat it.

I may have gotten to about world 7-1 (though doubtful). Maybe world 5 or 6 but that was likely through cheating.

This time I went straight through, went through every level and beat it! I got to world 7-1 yesterday and picked it up again this morning and beat it after quite a few struggles with that damn toad.

Its funny how long it took me to advance when I was a youngster. it is still a tough game, but I got through it much quicker. Anyone else experience this?

I started Mario: Lost worlds after stopping Mario 2 for the day yesterday and got to world 2-2 than struggled A LOT at this one part. After beating Mario 2 I dove back in and still struggled on 2-2 before flying and now I am currently on level 7-2....ahhh nice to have two days off.

Anyone else beat Mario 2? I have beaten 1, 2, lost levels, super mario world 1 and 2 and mario 64. Mario 3 is the last one to go out of all the marios on those three systems. I think Mario 3 is the hardest, harder than the lost levels even.

I feel like I'm wasting my day if I spend it playing video games.

So no, I have never beat Mario anything.

Nah, I'd honestly rather play some guitar.

(and I'm really good at video games as it is, so they usually bore me because there isn't enough of a challenge... Yeah, I'm boasting, what a cocky wanker I am! :D )

Yeah, don't get me wrong... there is a time and place for video games.

Yet, I can't possibly imagine spending an entire day on one.

I can easily spend a couple of hours playing Civilization though, but that game is intellectually superior to any other game ever created as it is.

Civilization I can play for hours, even the super nintendo one, little squares that move and represent something meaningful. The computer ones are sweet. I should buy that.

i've only beat 1, 3, and 64. i only managed to beat 3 by playing on an emulator and saving my state after every level... i plan on doing the same with 2 soon...

i have noticed that i'm much better at mario than i was as a child... i never even beat mario 1 until a couple years ago, but it was easy as hell when i picked it back up at that point. 3 was the same way... i cheated this time, but i still flew through levels that ate up countless lives in my childhood...

I can't play video games anymore.

15 minutes and I start looking around for other things to do.

My roomate does have GTA4 though, and it's kinda cool. Games huge. I still can't really sit down very long though.

mario two is like your alcoholic uncle who is an embarassment to his family...nobody talk about him and and people get that..."pray to god he doesnt say something crazy when they see him" look...its the redheaded stepchild of the mario series...

It was a direct rip off/clone of some other Japanese game.

That's why the style is so different from the other mario games.
