What smarmy little response is this?! We all feel what eachother feels to an extent, but I am supposed to make some sort of extra effort on your part because you care to use a word, the meaning of which you won't take responsibility for? lol I have already told you, god is not beyond words, hence the word: god
Im sorry that maybe this was too much to ask of you. What smarmy little response huh? Well, damn. I guess I am at a loss to even talk to you, as you are much like a broker record. Or, a brick wall, actually. You have already told a LOT of things, except you have no actual substance, no reasoning behind any of them. First you attempt to call me a kid, then you call another person incorrect, then you claim that my posts are void of relevance. Well? Where's your outpouring of sense and substance? Because so far, you havent proven shit. ~
Now YOU want a favor? lol just kidding. Yes, the word God is a word. So what? What's a word anyway? A man made tool with which to express that which he/she is experiencing. THough, they often lack to express that which is being portrayed. ~
Well, if you could see the glow in my eyes when I talk about how God feels during meditation, maybe you would see that it is beyond words. Have you ever taken mushrooms? Or LSD? ~
This argument is circulaur it will never end . Besides the fact you will both feel harsh feelings towards each other.
You make them sound like a drug. Magic mushrooms are my favourite food. I have never met anyone who can talk beyond words. Thinking beyond them is something else.
Rebel! I have no harsh feelings toward Deja, honestly. I found out that my grandfather has cancer this morning, so my mood is a little more rude than normal. Please excuse any bad comments I've made, their really is no excuse. ~
I am really really sorry to hear that I will pray for him and hope he recovers It seems like everyone I know has cancer sometimes Oh I am in no position to judge someones language or comments mine I am sure are not always the most kind.haha
I think I do know of this sound that you are talking about, but I don't find reason for called it god. Try communicating with it through the language of music and see what it says.
Are you actually trying to tell us that some abstract meditative Buddhist metaphor about vibrations actually means that sound can produced matter? And you have REAL scientific proof of this? And by real proof I don't mean biased fake religious science proof or unsubstantiated STRORIES about modified breathing meditative hallucinations. The range of frequencies that we call sound are a secondary form of energy. It can not create matter, it absolutely relies on matter to propagate. You once accused me of only being aware of the physical, and then you talk of sound as if it is the whole spectrum when it is barely a narrow range of weak secondary energies. There is however a known condition where neural signals in a defective, damaged or chemically altered brain become crossed between the hearing and sight called Synesthesia. In this case a person could perceive sound as light patterns and in turn mistake those images as true vision. I can't wait to hear about this proof you speak of. Will it be some misinformation and lack of understanding about cooking carbon into diamonds with microwaves or some other misinformed concoction of creationist pseudoscience?
"person could perceive sound as LIGHT patterns and in turn mistake those images as true vision." funny you mention... lol it's all about the light. That's my current belief. However, I'll let Relayer post. I must say there could be some truth to this thesis. and you are so fast to call many things pseudoscience, let me ask you a question relaxxx, since you seem to know so much about science and trust it with your life obvisoulsly. Here is science faction not fiction: The quantum mechanic world tells us that during events where atoms split, on a subatomic level, some particles dissapear, they cease to exist. Or at least they do under the microscope. Now, science says that that matter has to transofrom to something else a gas, a liquid, a waste product, something... it can't just fucking dissapear, or fizle out. Science says all equations have to balance. So, then my dear man, explain to me where these particles are going? Explain to me if SCIENCE has said that all equations like this have to balance. Why in the blue hell it has accepted a Mathematical framework for years that relies on CHANCE at the sub-atomic level. And why it accepts the fact that some particles just dissapear and reappear randomly. Chance?, Rolling Dice?, Roulette?, I don't know about you but I find it very hard to accept this as a "LOGICAL" (and by logical here i mean the proverbial scientific tried tested and true method) way to define the universe. If it all comes back to chance, then my friend your still gambling, your still chosing to put FAITH in your FATE. Even with a purely scientific view of the world. "Generally, quantum mechanics does not assign definite values to observables. Instead, it makes """""predictions""""" about probability distributions; that is, the probability of obtaining each of the possible outcomes from measuring an observable. Naturally, these probabilities will depend on the quantum state at the instant of the measurement." that quote is directly out of wikipedia on quantum mechanics just so that people know what the hell im babbling about. Prediction Shmediction, this is sceince? HA! i say and double HA! Science is supposed to take the guess work OUT of life NOT accept it! So tell me, where are the particles Relaxxx? Show me the particles. Show me the money! Show me the money!
There are a lot of scientists and professors who I believe are full of shit nearly as much as creationists. Quantum mechanics and all these crazy string theories and what are they up to 11 dimension now? I don't give a shit about any of that crap because honestly none of it makes any sense to me. Look up string theories and you'll see diagrams that look like energy sine waves traveling in straight lines or orbits. So we don't have the technology to track atomic particles at light speed boo hoo. Spin a flashlight around fast enough in the dark it looks like the light is creating a solid loop doesn't it? Anyway... I don't just blindly choose science. I choose to believe only what makes sense to me. So now tell me this? If you could smash open an atom right now on your desk, how would you collect all these sub atomic particles traveling at light speed before the blasted out of reach?
hey relaxx i understand what you say about how living a life without an imaginary place (heaven) at the end is more free, but it's really the opposite. I live my life for the very same things you do, but I don't live in constant fear of death like all atheists. I understand how you may think that since I believe in an afterlife, I won't live my life here to the fullest. I try to have as much fun and good times as I can, and I have more fun because I'm not in a conscant state of worry over death, my mind is at peace. I really thought this thread would die, but I come back and theres like 10 more pages of arguments, and I thought you said you had left this thread for good.
THIS POST IS AIMED AT RELAXX AND ONLY RELAXXX Relaxxx, I dare you to go one day trying to believe in God. Actually try to believe in a God, then see how you feel towards the end of the day. During one or tow periods in my life, I have questioned the existance of God once or twice in my life, and those periods of my life were pretty depressing. Once you grasp the concept of God, things get so much brighter. Trust me, and go one day believing in God, you don't have anything to lose. You don't know how happy you CAN be until you've experianced true happiness and peace of mind.
