i could have figured ou tthe meaning of life by writting my lit paper. ah i love this paragraph I wrote. “This little girl’s grown up by now” (328), Susie reached adulthood in heaven by living through her sister Lindsay’s experiences. Susie retained her own identity while adopting various facets of her sister to help her ‘sew herself together’ and reach maturity. Sometimes in life we don’t see the complete picture or our potential finished product. We are constantly looking up at the underside of our quilt, our purpose for living and being. All some can see are hanging threads; jumbles of fabric clumped together, a messy pattern with no rhyme or reason. Eventually we are able to see the top of the quilt, our pattern in life; each star and each stripe represents how our experiences are tied and sewn together. We see the significance of our needlework and how nicely we have come together to form a completed beautiful work of art. Susie finished sewing her quilt in heaven with the help Lindsay her sister and seamstress.
you make your own meaning- don't you get it? there's no general meaning, life's not universal. alright now I know I'm just stoned.
I didn't see that in the text though, to be honest I kinda skimmed :& But anyways I agree with you. Everything we know is through perception, including the meaning of life.
That's a really good way of putting it. I read that book too, "The Lovely Bones". It was really sad. I thought the sister's name was spelled "Lindsey" (like my name) but I'm probably misremembering (is that a word?!) it.
thank you! my prof just emailed me and asked if she could read my essay out loud next class yeyyyyyyyyeeeeeeee
