Well I didn't cry but my eyes did tear up. My dog hasn't been acting the way she normally does. She's been kind of sluggish for a while. When I take her out for a walk she wants to go home sooner than she used to. Well I let her lazy ass have her way while I was going to school and now she is over weight. I have a 27 pound dog. No wonder it's been harder to carry her fat ass upstairs at night. So I had to take her to the vet because I've noticed these lumps under her skin. The doctor looked at me and told me that they are tumors. Scared the crap out of me and depressed me. I don't want to think about losing Delaunay. She's my baby. So I had to sit and wait while the doctor tested one of the lumps. Come to find out they are just fat tumors but I have to keep an eye on them. So I'm still in a crummy mood just thinking about when I will lose my baby. Anyone have good news to share?
Its a nice day and i've decided to indulge myself and go to the art gallery and walk around the city and just "be free", maybe see a movie. This is good news for me, because i've been feeling too weak and tired to do much for a few weeks now. I understand about your dog. I really couldn't bear to lose wilco (my maltese terrier). Hopefully you will have many more years of happy memories with her.
Angela....my next door neighbor has a beagle. That fat ass porker weighs 65 pounds. I almost had to run from it the other night. He was on a lead even...but he saw my little less than 20 pound dog and he wanted to eat her right up. Did the doc give you advice on how to get your baby healthier?
She said that for an 8 year old dog she is really healthy. She has gained 7 pounds in three years. I'm just going to make her walk even when she starts grumbling about it.
i have to chase around, jump on, smack around, etc - pretty much what another dog would do at the park with my dog - to get him to run around more...otherwise he'll just stand next to me and watch the other dogs. unless of course his old time puppy friends (the ones he grew up playing with) are up at the park
Yeah I have to run, growl and jump around my dog. Otherwise she just sniffs and pees. haha Or takes a crap when I don't have any baggies with me. :toetap05: She doesn't like other dogs - she tries to fight with them so we don't go to the park much. That plus the fact that she gets car sick. Yeah that's a no go. I'll just chase her around tomorrow.
Oh god, I know about the baggies. Its almost as if they KNOW when we don't have one and they take a crap just to piss us off. I usually have to bury my dog's with a stick.
ugh... that's another reason i don't want to get another dog until i'm out of the city... i can't imagine carrying around plastic shitbags with me... :ack2:
I am sitting here stairing at my Goldendoodles face. She's awesome. Having a pet is the most awesomest act of ownership. Pets love unconditionally.
i used to work for the parks department and had to empty those barrels every week, so i'm also glad that that wasn't common practice in my town
Yeah she is. She's been pouting with me because she had her shots today. It just really brought home how she is getting older. I made her run around and play with me after I made this thread. She was not pleased. haha
