Tonight while I was playing a game online & still able to check posts on here, some guy from TX pops onto my screen with YM, trying to get together.
Now this is a guy that I have never IM'd before.
He claimed to see my profile...he wouldn't say where, but my yahoo profile has a cartoon pic and it says my age is 72. His profile says he is 42. (I don't need no crap about it being unhippy like to lie either...u want crap I'm in the mood to give it to u).
He proceeded to send me a picture that I used to have on my hipgallery (I took it off tonight) and I don't remember posting that pic anywhere else online. The picture was taken 2 1/2 years ago.
When I asked where he got it, he said I need to learn how to use a computer....hellllo, I can e-mail & post here in my sleep.
QUESTION~if anyone here uses the name "jbosx" on YM...do not try chatting with me again! I don't need the head games.

Just block the idiot and forget about it. I get strange IMs all of the time but I usually either ignore or block if they don't seem to be serious.

I think the guy was trying to point out, that the majority of internet users go to extraordinary lengths to secure their communications but yours is wide open - I would take his advice and start reading on computer security and IM - I do not use IM as it is probably one of the biggest threats to computer security. Just make sure you have no crediit card details or other sensitive data on any computer you use IM from. also look at the microsoft and yahoo advisories on IM
