Have you heard people tell you this? That they don't want there name on something, like if they sign it, they could get in trouble. The referendum to legalize marijuana didn't even make iot to our ballet in Washington because all of these sad little people who just want to hide. (just my opinion)

    So what do you think?

I've never heard anyone say that in that situation, but sure, I get it.

I would like to be more active in anti-Drug War activism. But I'm terrified of an unwarranted issue of a warrant against me. And who knows what traces they'll find in the house all my friends and brothers' friends and sisters' friends are at. I have a clean record, and am going to have enough trouble making my way through life with that.

If people believed in legalizing it they would sign. The reason they dont want their name on anything is because they dislike marijuana, and don;t wanna be involved. As much as I disagree with this viewpoint, it still makes sense that they wouldn't want to speak for it if they dont believe in it

^ nah, some people really do seem to think it could get them in trouble, or monitored or whatnot.

Getting the word out there. Marijuana will always be illegal. The word means prisoner. Maybe some have heard about this. The name for cannabis is cannabis, and name for hemp is hemp. Cannabis and hemp have never been 'marijuana=prisoner', which has nothing in common with the plant ~cannabis and hemp~. And yet police will inevitably label cannabis as marijuana which is the only word used in a prosecution or bust or bust or prosecution related incident. Begin getting in the habit of calling cannabis and hemp by proper and legal names. When police label cannabis, marijuana... be sure to refer to it in it's lawful terms. Some people have never heard it referred to by it's lawful terms before... when we say 'cannabis', they ask, what's that? And I have to give them the history of the name for this wonderful herb plant.

Marijuana is an American/Canada word, you hear no one in Europe or anywhere else for that matter say it, it's Cannabis over here (or weed of course)

They ain't gonna find a thing in this house. They can search me, and if it's not legit I'll see 'em in court. I don't have a damn thing here.

I help where I can with a group here in Florida trying to get a medical cannabis bill on the ballot. But to go along with what your saying they use marijuana in the name of their group so people are already on guard before you even get the chance to talk to them.

I understand why people are hesitant. I don't think it's a valid concern by in large, but I get it.

I personally have no problem putting names etc on pro-cannabis related things.

That said, I do tend to reserve my outspokeness for places other than my hometown. I live in a small town, I am well respected, and being outspoken about my cannabis use would be detrimental to me professionally. You can call me a coward or whatever, but I've worked hard for where I am.

The fact is that being completely open about my cannabis use/views would be detrimental to my professional life. Period
