I fear for the state of our military and the work they do after this...

I witnessed a car full of men in fatigues speeding through campus yesterday (a low speed zone) and cursing and yelling at pedestrians, and laughing in a maniacal way yesterday. very disturbing. if these are the people that represent our country to foreigners, no wonder the world hates the US as much as I do.

and it's not like the poor guy they almost ran over and berrated knows what to do to rememdy the situation. they got away with it, in uniform!

 

Plant a few IED’s and I promise you they’ll slow down and be more respectful

^^^This. Although one may not agree with what they do or how they do it, after doing what they do for months on end I'm sure anyone would be down for a rowdy old time. It certainly can't be easy doing that for a living. If anything it would be hard on the nerves.

 

I was at a sports bar awhile ago and there was a big military vehicle parked out front with a bunch of sailors getting drunk inside. so glad my tax money supports that..

military personnel have an obligation to act professional. so, bad comparison.

 

They have an obligation to "defend" us from "enemies". Aside from that they're only human.

 

I doubt their commanding officer would agree, but whatever you say. personally I hold people in uniform to a higher standard since they have guns and represent this country to the rest of the world. vigi's right.. no wonder everyone hates us.

Everyone hates your country because the leaders start fly by night wars over oil, invade countries and try to take over their government, try to command the rest of the world but at the same time many people are ignorant towards a lot of things outside the US, strong-arm other countries that have something the US wants, cover up things and lie to the public, etc.


People don't hate your country because some military personnel act erratically sometimes.

The individual military personnel is not responsible for what I listed. They simply do what they're told, which is what they're trained to do. I think that many of the people who are in the military don't know a lot outside of that life and I think that the uniform can rub off on them. You'd sort of have to be confident/arrogant to do what they do. But they are not the problem, the system and the leaders with the money are the problem.

perhaps I didn't? I live in a port city with two Navy bases and I'm fucking fed up. I've had more than a handful of encounters and fights with those clowns for disrespecting anything and everyone around them.

This is why your views are not met with the agreeing response you'd like them to be, you have a natural bias because of where you live. I see many "well behaved" military personnel around my city. In uniform, not loud, not cursing, not fighting, not drinking. As Asmodean and Cherea said, they've always done that, it's how they deal with the shitty lifestyle they put up with. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but that certainly isn't the reason people hate the US.
