i got burnt on a sunbed :(

stupid i know.....

and i got prickley heat

i just wanted a tan !!!!

and i wanted my skin to get used to heat before i go away next week..


prickly heat kept me awake alllll night
so eventually i got a wet towel and put in on me..
because when i scratched it it felt soooo good at the time, then after it would start to feel really raw like firey and it would hurt!!
the wet towel cooled it down..
i want it gone...
help me

Hell, I'm vain. Not vain enough to tan under a sunbed, because that's pretty much the peak of vanity... but still.

and i want a tan too, that doesnt mean im vein...
my boyfriends Ma rented one, his sisters and ma are usin it too , they're not vein, far from bein actually.
nothin wrong with wanting a bit of a colour.

and i never knew a fella that went on a sunbed anyways, so its not that your "not vein enough" to go on one.. just the fella's usually dont :frown:

When I was around 17, 18 years old I was forever tanning at tanning salons. I was one dark chicka.

The one time they put brand new bulbs in one of the beds and let me tell you, I got sooo burnt. It was horrible. I could barely move I was so burnt!

I haven't visited a tanning salon for 13 years now. I get my tan from the sun when I'm outside doing things. I can't stand just laying about. So boring to me.

But I understand why you wanted to try and get a base tan before going on vacation to prevent burning...just be careful.

I had a couple of sessions in a tanning salon before I went to India years ago, didn't like it, came out into the cold red as a lobster, it was weird, never again.

The strangest thing is you see people using these things in the summer, when it's sunny. A few years ago in Edinburgh there was a real scorchio mediteranian heat wave one weekend, and there were still people going into this tanning salon!

 

You have to be over 18 to tan here.

If you had an issue with a tanning bed. Theres a good chance you either :

Was not told how to use it correctly.

or

Didnt listen and got what you deserved.

You should never get into a tan bed for longer than a few mins. The end.

 

Oh man, I used to spend 15-20 minutes a session in the tanning bed.

 

ha yeah its weird, i think its real freaky when the lights go off and your wesrin the goggles, and they're so dark so its pitch black, and then ya take them off and its real bright.. i duno i just hate the dark so i hate when it happens lol

summer, seems like a myth to me

i was buildin up my time, i was on it for 7 at first then 10, then 13, i went to 15 yesterday, i think il go back down to ten

I've never been in one. Never will either.

I use sunblock and try to stay in the shade. I get tanned anyway, but it comes in small increments.

Women who used to sunbathe in the 70's look like leather saddlebags now.

 

I ended up in a pub in Edinburgh the other morning about 9 o clock, and there were these two mad irish blokes in there. It was raining outside, no sign of any summer weather at all, and they were like taking their tops off and putting sun tan lotion on in the pub, it was fucking funny. I think they were gay.

 

if you take off your goggles your gonna get burns on your eyelids, and the rays with leak into your eyes even if you have them closed..

 

No, you havent. All your really doing is more damage. Sure you might not get burnt as much, but the damange will just increase.

 

Get a fake tan. They won't cause you to get wrinkles and skin cancer.
