all the basic courses are put into place to filter out the people who are serious about college and those who are not. Trust me, a lot of people drop out in their first 2 years. Wait until you get to your senior year. It's overwhelming at times even though you are in classes that you should like... Okay I'm done procrastinating. I have to write 4 papers tonight.
im not sure if you are in a liberal arts college, or what your area of study is for that matter, but i know that the idea of a liberal arts college is to make you a well rounded induvidual, educationally speaking. In my western civilization class we talked about the signifigance of the liberal arts curriculum and when it was formed (back in the 10th century, i think if not before) and it was to make one be learned in all aspects of study. You hate history. I hate math. I'm not going to need it after the semester's over. So I'm feelin your frustration!!!
