Maybe I can't judge not being American, but I find all this cynicism a little disturbing. I am not saying that the man is awesome, or that he is going to save the country but ethnic minorities in dominant civilisations have been shat on for millennia. I know you're all over it, but I think that a black president is a milestone worth celebrating.

see, everyone seems to get all huffy when i point out the fact that he is of mixed race so i figured mulatto was better than the other choices, zebra,salt and pepper,burnt toast,,etc...

 

he is a half breed, but we all know that when someone is half black they are considered black in the public consciousness. even though this does no apply to any other ethnicity.

 

see i come from a different generation,i was raised you have white,black and mulatto.. somewhere in the last 30 years mulatto became mixed race..

i cant call someone of mixed race black nor white because that simply is not what they are..

i personally feel if i was a black man i would be insulted by everyone proclaiming him black.. its like everyone settled for half as good enough..
