it's one of those beta fishes..... a male one.... why is it @ the pet store you can only find the male ones? Are they just more colourful or something? anyway, he's so cute, swimmming around in his little tank, with flourescent green pebbles... quite trippy.... we (my hubby and I) have named him Poseiden - after the Greek god of the oceans....
I killed mine two weeksafter I got it, by accident Make sure you feed him regularly, but don't overfeed! And change the water regularly (I think that's what I did wrong) but yeah, the male ones are a lot more colourful. Don't put two in the same tank though - they like to fight to the death
yes the reason the males are generally what you see in the stores is cuz the females are pretty boring and dull looking in comparison,,,,, they aint got the pretty n long fins n basically look like a giant guppy or feeder fish..... my question is why a betta ? they aint exactly the most exciting fish to have around n ,,, well hate to say it but they rarely live long either,,, to get them to the age n look that people will buy them,,,, their life is well over half over already,,,, just my 2 cents here but if ya lookin for a critter in a tank of water that is fun to watch n intermingle with,,, albino clawed frogs are the way to go,,,,,
