but I didnt realize it was a black widow until after my wife had me kill it. She did that on purpose. Now I'm bugging out even though this is the first black widow I've seen after killing countless hundreds of spiders for her in this apt. How am I supposed to sit or do anything here without feeling like a black widow is about to descend onto my neck? What do they want from me?

i hate them things! smash it and vacuum it's ass up! DIE! DIE!! DIE FUCKER!!

i've mashed a few in my life... i'm all for catch and release of bugs.. but not black widows. i eveN tried to catch a redwood tarantula once. it was so big it made a thump noise when it jumped off the wall and hit the ground!

I have wondered about the ethics of bug killing. maybe it's better karma to do the thing where you cover it with a cup then slide a paper underneath the spider then take it outside. I wouldnt think of killing a spider if it's not in my house; I even welcome most bugs inside, but the wife is arachnophobic.

I hate them. I hate most arachnids, but these creep me out. Just killed one the other day and there are a few others outside that bug the hell out of me. Need bug spray.

Smoke it! Nah you'd probably start tripping. Just chill bro, if it wasn't a baby widow then you don't have much to worry about.

actually it was a young small one. the red marks were on top of the abdomen which the internet told me was characteristic of young ones.

They're pretty reclusive, I wouldn't worry too much...

I try hard not to kill spiders, wasps, and mosquito lions.. but fleas, ticks, mosquitoes... dem fuckers are dead.

If that's the case, then I would strongly suggest looking in all corners of your house (rooms, under the sinks, shad, garage) if you haven't already, the younger ones are more aggressive than the adults better safe than sorry.

haha I actually used some pep oil for a headache since I first posted. I dig Patchouli for insect repellent. it keeps bugs away when I'm on nature walks and hides the smell of weed that I'm invariably smoking and its sedative effects have a good synergy with the herb. My fav is ylang ylang or balsam fir

Check your shoes before putting them on, & don't leave them outside, especially overnight. That was a good tip when I lived in widow territory.

haha I just thoroughly inspected my sandals for spiders right before checking this thread again. there's no spiders in sight but they're here. they've gotten to me, infiltration is imminent. I think they want their land back.

I have always been arachnophobic... i had this fear, that if a spider is in my room, and i dont get rid of it, it will come out at night and crawl into my mouth/ears... so i could never sleep in a room i knew was home to a spider...

as of recently though, it has dissapeared. i found several spiders in my room, and i just left them be...

but i just googles ''redwood tarantula'' to see, and i still started feeling an onset of a panic attack... fuck, i just start shaking like hell when i see big spiders...
