The only song I know I know all the words to, without thinking about it, is the Bloodhound Gang's The Bad Touch. Vanilla Ice's Ice Ice Baby and the Counting Crows' Mr. Jones, I probably know all the words to, but it would take some remembering
That's just embarrassing. And I'm old enough to remember when they played that shit on the radio. Stay Brown, Rev J
You don't even know "Stop, collaborate and listen"?! Best opening rap lyric ever (even if it is the poppiest of pop)
He didn't, him and Earthquake did. Vanilla Ice had to take credit to help with the illusion that the rapper is the brains behind the operation. Sampling is a normal part of rap and has been from the beginning (that's why it's a lower genre, if you ask me); not getting permission, well, that's kinda where they went wrong. But look up any song on YouTube and you're way more likely to find a stolen one, than one the artist/owner put up.
Yeah instead of the real song you have to listen to some weird kid or sucky old guy attempt to cover it =P
You're patently wrong - Sampling & twisting the original into something far better can in no way be described as lesser, lower or inferior.
