    Can someone please tell me the difference between male and female plants and which ones get buds. thanks guys

    males dont bud, but females can get pollen sacks.
    you cnat miss the males, they get nut sacks, you will see them first on the main stalk, alot of time while there still in veg, 18 + hours of light, but sometimes after they go into bud,

    Females grow buds, males don't.
    A plant that has both buds and pollen sacs is called a hermaphrodite.
    Outside you really can't tell sex for sure until mid-Aug., as fall approaches. Males almost always express sex first.
    As soon as you see a plant growing what looks like dangling seeds (pollen sacs), rip it up and dispose of it far away from the other plants.
    Development of females is slower. About a week or 2 after the males express, you'll notice buds beginning to form on the female plants.
    Females are generally ready to harvest in mid-Oct.
