Just, starin at 'em... or just the night sky in general... A nice cool evening like this one, fluffy bits of clouds coming inbetween me and the moon every once and a while, and even though I can't see shit compared to people in the country, it's still amazing... Mainly because it's a real experience... it's not a superficial, artificial made experience that lasts a few seconds, or a back breaking mind boggling task, it's not a thrilling joy ride pumping with adrenaline or an intense sedation of any kind... It just is... There's no if and or buts, it's fucking there. Always has been, and dwarfs my existence by a longshot... If you don't understand what I mean by... just being, I can't explain it any further.
yeah dude in ireland the stars are amazing, i wish their were like galaxies and stuff visible...far out shit man LOL
Looking at the stars give me like the chills there so beautiful. It would be awesome if you could breathe in outter space cause i could totally float way forever.
I recently camped out on a trip to Glastonbury, and whilst looking up at the dark sky illuminated by spots of brilliant starlight, I was caught in moments of profound thinking - so many questions and fewer answers
For tens of thousands of years it was the only nightly entertainment on the planet and was watched by millions. h
When I go to the Amazon one of the most incredible things to do is take a canoe out to the middle of the river and lie back looking at the stars. There are no artificial lights for hundreds of miles and the stars on the equator reach down so close you can almost touch them. They sing to my soul as the water rocks the cradle of my dugout canoe. There I am a child of the universe, at peace in oneness that is there for any of us who seek it out.
Then An Hour Or So Later You Realise You Have Drifted 4 Miles Downstream And Have To Paddle Ya Ass Off To Get Back Home... Cheers Glen.
Sounds wonderful just you and about a million bloodthirsty mosquitoes, deadly piranha, and giant anacondas capable of upturning your canoe and squeezing the life out of you ... Otherwise it’s peace and tranquility h
the best part is when you realize youre actually looking into the past and a lot of those stars dont even exist anymore ...youre just seeing the light they put out or reflected many many years ago
Even that is a plus cause most of the time I'm a lot farther down shitcreek without a paddle. Cheers to you Glen ol' boy, next time I go you can come along as first mate:2thumbsup:
True fact: I was feeling all poetic and groovy on one trip so I had my little journal and a flashlight to see by. There are blood spots all over the pages from swatting the damn mosquitos. Ha! Stupid old hippie. Regardless I'll do it again as soon as I get back :sunny:
i like the planets orbiting them, and the almost certainty that the people living on at least some of them might be a bit less fucked up then what we have done with ours. otherwise they're just little pinpoints of light in the sky. but they do make it look prettier then it would be if there were none or we couldn't see them.
I remember laying on the grass New Years in NZ a few year's back with my sister. We were just looking up at the milky way in particular cause it was SO VISIBLE! I mean it was that bright it was amazing. In Australia it's fine, but in New Zealand it's like DAYUM! I need sunnies. We totally missed the countdown too, 12:15, we were like "oh yeah btw, happy new year!"
